he actually captained them this year.

Not playing for the Tahs didn't hinder Gleeson, nor Lonergan for the Brumbies. et al
Gleeson and Lonergan were a bit different being staying in the country and performing for Australia A...

Lukhan Salakaia-Loto played 6 matches for the Reds for a total of 280 minutes... Are you saying he should have been picked in front of our other 2nd rowers?

I just think the argument that we should have picked 'Better' players is ridiculous, especially when you go on to name guys that weren't really playing well, didn't make their club team, and also were unavailable for selection.

We can be critical of selections and the Wallabies coaches as much as we want, but throwing out weird selections like Hamish Stewart at 10 and Alex fucking Newsome at 15 as some type of ridiculous answer that there were too many Brumbies... begs belief...

But hey Super Rugby next, and when the Brumbies finish last and the Reds first, we will see a world cup team full of Reds players. Then I will come back and say they should have picked Scott Sio instead of Jock Campbell at fullback

Ya - we need to fix coaching among all the other issues we have. Im not sure what point you are trying to make though? The fact our franchise setups are basically amateur is not Rennies fault.
No, it's not his fault and trying to train them for international rugby from the squad shows how poorly trained in the basics some of our players are.
Having said that I am struggling to understand his selections or his game management. He is like a guy who became a manager and the boss said, " This is your team, " and he never looked outside of that team until it all went to hell. He then went on a fishing expedition and caught little.
Only on this tour has he managed to discover some talent he didn't know he had.

No, I am countering your point that he wasn't picked by the Reds with facts.

Rennie has had a significant advantage (that no other Wallabies coach since the 2003 World Cup) of having a consistently strong support staff for all of his tenure.

Deans: Foley (good), Graham (bad), Williams (ok), Noriega (good), Nuicifora (good), Blake (good), McGahan (good), Blades (good), Shrivnier (good). team manager: Bob Egerton (good), S&C coach Ashley Jones (good).

McKenzie: McKay (good), Blades, Shrivnier. Pulver cut costs, gutted wider staff - no team manager, no S&C coach, etc..

Cheika: Larkam (bad), Grey (bad), Ledesma (ok), Ruawali (bad), Berne (bad), Byrne (ok), S&C Dean Benton (good), team manager Patrick Molihan (good).

McKenzie had to deal with responsibilities & pressures that head coaches aren't expected to deal with, he was hamstrung more than any Wallabies coach in history.

The reality is, McKenzie (and to a lesser extent Cheika) had terrible support around him - remember at the time Pulver was cutting costs & McKenzie ended up without any team manager, S&C coach & other wider support staff - critical '1 percenters' that are big differences in a team.

Ewen McKenzie is still Australia's greatest national coach since MacQueen - better than E.Jones, R.Deans, and most certainly Rennie.

Eddie Jones now being linked to a few NRL clubs. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s linked to a netball team next.
I said I wouldn’t be surprised if this happened a week ago or so. He’s made it very clear in the past he loves League and I could see a club bringing him in to some consulting role like Steve Hansen did a little bit for the Dogs.

Seibold is coaching Manly now and Jones brought him into the England coaching set up…. I know they had Laurie Daley fall through as a consultant due to some gambling sponsor clash or something like that.

I haven’t seen anything linking Eddie Jones to an NRL team… Oh…

Wait…

Do I have to sift through some trash pieces on Meghan Markle and Dan Andrews to find them?

Well, in other news, the A-League (specifically Melb Victory fans) have set a new low bar for Australian sports with their pitch invasion and player attack today.

Let’s just hope the fans don’t migrate to the Rebels now that their games will be forced to be played without crowds.

Any rugby players looking to play up during silly season probably have a clear runway now in terms of news coverage, I can’t see that moving off the front page for a while.

Oh yeah, the A League has completely devolved…

First the grand final debacle, and now this… while the World Cup is on.

A League is done now, what absolute bellends. Paramount will go, they have no money.
