Ok boys I will ask it it in here, give a score on how you think Hamish and Clarke have done with their job so far. I know it been hard with covid etc, but have they delivered what the said (and Covid was here after they said it) ie; a super comp going forward, and tv deal (so money to support game).
I will say now I was a huge fan of Haimsh when I first saw him talk on TV, but am concerned (and have said) he maybe a very good public relations man, and talks a big game, but he needs some kind of results, especially now.
They’ve done bloody brilliantly, any weaker administration would have caved to the NZRU and Australia Rugby would implode with infighting over the culling of another super rugby team or two.
They organised a OZ Super Rugby tournament across multiple border restrictions, which culminated in a cracking final series, and amazingly no cancelled games. They’ve secured $8.8million in federal government support for the 2027 RWC bid. They secured the hosting rights of the Tri-Nations by negotiating strong financial support from the stage governments.
And finally, RA to announce a new contract with 9 and Stan which will see Super Rugby on FTA for the first time in 20 years, unless Foxtel throw in a late bid increasing the value of their bid, which would include Super Rugby games free on Kayo.

I'm giving Clarke and McLennan a solid 8/10 as well, at this point. Of course, they're benefiting from much that Raelene put in place before she was shafted. But, for better or worse, they're playing the PR game much better than she did.
only $4.3m spent on community rugby.
From Adam's link to the Oz:
The Rugby Australia 2019 annual report shows the organisation made a loss and spent nearly $120m last year, including $19m on corporate expenses with only $4.3m spent on community rugby.
It was Rugby Australia chairman Hamish McLennan who signed up renowned “chainsaw” Adam Foulsham to initially slash $15m off the books, but the newly appointed chief operating officer has saved the organisation double that.

RA have reduced annual expenditure by $30million under Mclennan

Some interesting stats in Wayne Smiths most recent article.
Since 2000 believe it or not the All Blacks worst winning percentage is against the Wallabies. South Africa have marginally the highest winning percentage but the ABs and Wallabies have had a few draws which means the wallabies are the opponent NZ has had most issues beating.
We have also won 66% of all other matches, maybe there is something to playing NZ too often?
The expectations of donors is an issue especially if private equity ownership of RA becomes a fact in NZ and Australia. Was watching a tv program the other night, Grant Nisbett and Justin Marshall are doing these interest bits on the test from Aus and on Aus rugby, they were at Kearnsie's place talking to him and the discussion went to RA and money etc, Twiggy came up in conversation and if RA could take some advantage of his money, Kearns seemed to hint that maybe they were a bit worried about what came with the money. He didn't in anyway say what the problem was, and I not sure how much knowledge he has, but was interesting I thought.

The question you raise will have to be addressed - what is the quid pro quo?
