If its in 2026, its up against the FIFA world cup, followed by the Rugby WC in 27, could be shotting yourself in the foot as you highlight how small you are.
Even smaller comp in '26 than the previous few as well - 10 mens teams (+ 8 women's and 8 wheelchair)

There are only like 4 countries that could host this. This will be what the commonwealth games is to the olympics.

And of those the original hosts France had to hand back the rights because they couldn't secure the funding from the Govt as there was no interest in doing so.

Even then it's arguably an afterthought in the one country where league is the dominant code. At least the other countries are competitive in the commonwealth games without importing players born and raised in the one place league is popular.

* Brett Robinson considering whether it's his turn to stick his neck up to be chopped down by the rugby establishment.

Interesting to see that RFU have joined Australia, New Zealand and Japan in backing Brett Robinson

Cant we do this at least at the end of the season ffs? Is there any possible issue with the game that hasnt be covered a thousand times over in this video on these forums?
except this is made in England I think. That makes it noteworthy IMO when people overseas start to point to our issues.

214 subs - how did you even find that?

I'm a veritable Sherlock Holmes.

I'm not sure what Hoiles problem is but you'd be forgiven for thinking he's trying to death ride the code here.
Not sure if it's specifically the case for Hoiles, but there does seem to be a bit of bitterness from that generation for just missing out on the golden era of Australian rugby. Tends to manifest in a desire to return to what it was exactly before they hit the scene, because that change must be the problem.

Negativity gets clicks, especially in a landscape where traditional print media is on life support because it's rarely better than the competition.

I saw a post on an NRL forum where a person asked ChatGPT to write an article about a rumored player move and it cranked out a polished article exactly like Buzz would write one with all the usual vague but inflammatory verbiage.

Super Rugby may continue to slide as a competition if the all blacks and us get dusted in all games this year.

I’m waiting for the article in a few months from NZRU blaming us for their bad results and wanting to change the model.
