Kind of odd that with the wind at our backs the only kick to make a lot of ground was the one that went dead :(

It was absolutely bizarre. That was a strong Westerly at the ground last night and we didn't use it to our advantage at all. We played better in the first half when we were running into it.

This lack of ability to kick from the hand is rampant throught the game in Australia. With that wind behind us, any long kicks should have been drilled into the corners, not down the middle of the field. I saw exactly the same thing happen at a GPS 1st XV game last week - many of our players don't seem to have been coached on how to use a strong wind.

As far as I could see the Wallabies played with energy and purpose for about 5 minutes - the last 5.
To credit that to KB (Kurtley Beale) is untenable: the Bokke were down to 14 men for virtually the whole time KB (Kurtley Beale) was on the field.
IF is a good athlete but he doesn't seem to have a soft pedal and when he tries to finesse things he makes pretty basic mistakes. Hard to believe he played AFL given his pretty average kicking. He just needs to go hard.
I know Horne scored the match winner but geez its a sorry indictment of our wing stock that he is a test player: you can't have a test winger with a pop gun kick and average pace - he needs a decent kick or real speed, preferably both.
Some inaccuracy at the breakdown, I think, may have caused some of the penalties - that and unfathomable refereeing at times.

That is Mogg's great asset.

Next yr sacrifice a few seats and play at NIB
Next year give us an AB test. Everyone is sick of playing the Saffas. I know that's why I didn't go.

25'000 is a really disappointing crowd. You could charge a 25% premium on ticket prices at nib over Subiaco and it would still sell out. But an AB test would get 40'000 so you would be back at Scabiaco.

Oh OK. Let me know if you get sick of them, I'll arrange for a Lions test. Or a World Cup final, whatever you would prefer.

Says a man in Sydney. Bit harsh that one.

ChargerWA, You get plenty of first class rugby so stop your bitching.

Barbarian you've given a fair, unbiased summation.

Simmons had some good moments actually. But he wasn't good enough in the line out at all. Palu was the same with his ball in hand impact.

They are both the best options but we have to see more from them.

Greg Martin's comments about Palu were disgraceful and I'll informed.

I'd like to see Horwill and Simmons next game now. Carter has been steadily trending down and he doesn't offer those little extras like Simmons mowing down backs in open play or that nice offload to Carter early in the game.

Did Higginbotham offer much off the pine? Is he putting any pressure on Fardy?

He says from his castle of an AB's test nearly every year.

How's the air up there?

My castle also has three times the population of your castle, with a way bigger rugby public.

When you guys can get a decent sized crowd to a Boks game then maybe you can mount a challenge for a Bledisloe. Until that happens then the big game each year will rightfully go to the areas who can field a bigger crowd and give the ARU more bang for their buck.

Watching some highlights this morning. The smile on Folau's face whenever he scores a try is one of the best advertisements for our game. Let's hope we see that smile many more times in the gold shirt.

He is a freak and if he can add a more tactical kicking game he will be absolutely world class (if he isn't already)

After watching both tests yesterday, one noticeable difference is in the body height and leg drive of the AB and Wallaby locks.
Ours just don't seem to able to move bodies any where near as well.
We hit higher and stop, the AB's hit lower and leg drive.
Importantly they do this in both attack and defence.
For the Wallabies it's resulting in slower ball and the defence being on the front foot rather than their heels.
This impact area needs urgent attention.

It was Fardy who made that tackle.

Absolutely agree. Starting with Will Skelton, the worst offender. Offloads are great, occasionally, but low body height trumps just about everything in attack (and of course even more so in defensive situations).
