A number of posters on this forum have called for JOC (James O'Connor) to have a run at 13, maybe this is their opportunity???

(Massive dose of sarcasm.)

Slightly concerned with the 6-2 Bench and not really having cover for AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper).

Given how hard AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) has been playing and he's been down several times this series, the lack of a replacement that can play inside/outside centre is concerning.

If AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) goes off..Beale to 10? and shift JOC (James O'Connor) and Lilo out one?

My guess is Tomane will move to Outside centre if AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) goes down, his played there before is big enough and good enough.

Beale to 10
JOC (James O'Connor) to the wing
Mogg to fullback.

I still would have had Kilmen on the bench over McCalman..

Just reading that team list and seeing George Smith's name there gave me goosebumps.

Like BaBa said...." BRING IT ON MUTHAFUCKAS!"

Great starting lineup (sans the obvious flyhalf issue), but McCalman on the bench leaves us with one backline injury away from disaster....

Smith played 12 OS, even in the French final if I remember right? I'd use him somewhere if need be.

Anything but Phipps, am I right guys? Seriously it's like we're running a 6:1 bench.

Hasnt Smith played alot of Rugby in the Centres in Japan? He could be a handy 13 with Hooper the 12 Cover. o_O

I have been informed by a friend who watched the Wallabies train yesterday, that Smith was training in what appeared to be the starting side with Hooper on the bench. Mowen did not take part in the session and Rob Simmons took his spot in the lineout. It appears the starting forward pack will be:
1. Robinson
2. Moore
3. Alexander
4. Horwill
5. Douglas
6. Mowen
7. Smith
8. Palu
He also told me that in a kick chase drill/team run that Jesse Mogg was exceptional with his left boot; plugging the corners with ease. He said Kurtley played a fair bit of first receiver which makes me think that we could very well at some stage see Mogg at 15 and KB (Kurtley Beale) at 10.

where are they training?
do u know where i can find out training for the next few days > im so keen to watch!

From the games I've seen he's mostly been a BSF who pilfers and rips mauls to shreds. Plays a bit of second receiver, but that might just be their overusing him because he's the best in the team.

i understand the omission of kimlin for mcalman
deans has picked a starting team to win the game, kimlin would have an impact no doubt, but as likely as that he is likely to knock it on, twice.
we dont need mcalman to come on and win the game- hes there to tackle and not make errors, which is exactly what he'll do
there are 14 other blokes who will win the game for us
good decision

i think McCalman is there for his breakdown work. Deans wont want the Lions to have any clean ball. Kimlin has a better running game but McCalman makes his tackles and hits rucks. Slow ball will stuff the Lions.

Yeah look the lack of 13 cover may be an issue but...

What a FUCKING AWESOME team!!!

The best Aussie team that has been assembled for many years, and it has come right in time for the Lions decider!!

Bring. It. On. Muthafuckas.

I can't wait!!

barb, you already started on the pre-game drinks :)

It's pretty amazing to see George Smith's name in a Wallabies team again. Thought it would never happen again. Well done that man and well done Robbie.

Here's one to mull over, if anyone of 10,11,12,14,15 go down injured Mogg will come on. If AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) gets injured early George Smith will go to centre....

Nah, I just think it's because McCalman has been one of Deans regulars in recent times........

In regards to workrate, tackling, and hitting rucks it's what Kimlin has been known for...........

It gets better the more you think about it..the only way Fanga will get a run is if Genia comes off or if there are 4 injuries in the outside backs..if that happens they'll push everyone out 1 and let Genia run the backline from 10.

fark i cant wait for this......no mmm, no kimlin, no cover for arc but who cares its a good team generally - go gold you frigging little beauties against ten welshmen, a few dancing drunks and two smelly poms......... go aussie!!!!!!

How are they going to stop Genia? He's been given free reign in the last few games, even on 1 & 3/4 legs. Phillips will struggle to put a hand on him!
