I hate to give you the bad mail but this will be McMahons last test for the foreseeable future. If he can be persuaded to return in 2019 then he will make an excellent back row bench option. Lets not forget that the reason McMahon is leaving is because he was not made a reasonable offer by the ARU, presumably under instruction from the current coach.

I think your last sentence is pure speculation. If anything it looks like the current coach is motivating him and giving him the opportunity to get said offer raised. He's gone for this Jap season but it's a 1 + 1 deal so it's not unthinkable that he's back part way through the next soup season.

I’ve read his Japan deal is actually starting next year, dunno what he is going to do in the meanwhile.. Sunwolves or time off perhaps

Its complicated BR.
There's a lot of friendly banter between medical and surgical specialists.
Physicians joke surgeons have a "when in doubt cut it out" mentality and don't maintain a lot of their medical knowledge outside their area of expertise
Surgeons joke that physicians order a bunch of esoteric tests make obscure diagnoses but don't actually do much.
As a sweeping generalisation Surgeons ("the do-ers") operate and if that's not the solution they often get a physician ("the thinkers") to sort the problem out.
So it was an esoteric reference to the fact that if cyclo couldn't fix the problem with an operation involving tackle he'd more than likely ask someone else to sort it out.
Didn't expect anybody to think twice except maybe cyclo.

Having been under constant treatment by a Urologist over the past 5 years, the reference did spark an interest.

Looks like you're right on that one. The last round of the 2017/2018 Top League is on Xmas eve. So presumably his 2018 deal starts in August next year, but can't see any reason why he can't play for a soup franchise in the interim. And then of course he could just play the one season over there and return for the RWC preparations. I think this one has a fair bit to play out yet. It's clearly a completely different scenario to Fardy & Horne, hence the desire to keep him in the mix for Wallaby selection.

WTF, have the wallabies change up the defensive alignment again?

Hodge was defending inside Kuridrani off a set piece...

Why change what was working, KB (Kurtley Beale) was defending well at 12, need to stop shifting players around!

I'd say it's an opportunist set up for deep in the opposition half

Hodge was just in the line again. We seemed to have changed it after Beale's misses last week. Strange decision.

They’ve done it in both in both halves.. when the pumas were clearly going to run it, and kick it.

It’s ridiculous, especially when KB (Kurtley Beale) was defending so well at 12.

We're looking pretty effective in attack right now. Very flat passing. But jeez I wish we had the off loading ability of the ABs. Some great half breaks that could be really useful with a small pop pass.
