Australia A - Back on the Cards

Didn’t even realise that the first game is this Saturday, that’s fantastic. Good to plug the gap straight away, almost thought I would actually have to do something other than watch rugby

Dylan Pietsch is another. Was one of the best throughout the PAC cup. 2 winger starting that Aus Rugby has put money into so I get that.

I know there were guys left out that may be with the squad

Pietsch only got in the "AUS A" squad last time because it was closer to a AUS B or C team. He did some good things for sure, and will likely get some game time, but he is behind Daugunu, Vunivalu and Marky M (Nawaqanitawase) for sure

Given all the banter about who should and shouldn't be in or out of our wallabies and AUST "A" (b,c) teams surely it indicates that we need a serious NRC level competition.
At least we could then compare players against each other directly instead of parochial state lines.

Wallabies could then revert to a "Best 23 selected" team instead of a development operation, which would occur at NRC and Super Rugby levels.

Agreed, but a lot cheaper for a union millions of dollars in debt to send 30 players to japan for 3 weeks than paying 8 teams for 7 weeks.

Well where ever we have spent our limited $$$$ so far hasn't worked out too good when it comes to Wallaby world standings so maybe we need to be brutal and work out a new path to get better value.
