He’s a big boy that’s for sure. Looks like he’s played more League than Union like Skelton. Probably too tall and lumbering to play League which was why Skelton got introduced to Rugby.

Recruitment is definitely aggressive at younger ages now. They have the resources to throw a contract and see. Who cares if it doesn’t work out.

From what I have heard the money difference is astronomical. More than 2x what he can earn in Aus. Definitely not a move to play for Japan more a decision based on financial security because of horrendous injury record the previous 18months and the amount is just too big to ignore.

Suntory also has a very good rugby set up that is as good as any pro team going around.
