On form so far Gold hadn't last a game while NQ has not won one yet.
But that just changed and really opened up that pool for Ippy, if they win tonight.
Well done NQ lads, judging by the score it looked like a pretty good game.
It was Sunny

NQ boys whupped some tonight .

They were committed ....surprisingly so and more than I expected

Great job NQ . Thumbs Up

Also ....some of the results with bigger gyration would seem to imply a lack of depth across some of the teams
Depth is a big key to this tournament for sure, Hearing Logan have been hit by injuries as has White, but thats what this tournament throws at teams.
Ippy are really doing well, I'd say they have almost raped the top stop in their pool up.
Pool D is very interesting and the strongest pool I think. WA, Coast, White and Logan laying claims.

Not really

Gold spanked the Downs and Ipswich accounted for NQ handily where the scoreline was flattered by 2 x late tries when the result was in hand

NQ laid the smack down on Gold tonight and especially in the last 15m of the game
But Blue beat Sun Coast by 60 in round one whereas Gold limped over them by 3 on full time in round 2. Blue and Ipswich was a close one and the Downs v Ipswich was a close one. NQ can be forgiven for first up start. I thought they were a genuine chance v Gold.

Outside of some good individual performances here and there , the Ipswich Team were really off against Blue - especially in the first half. In the 2nd half they broke their line almost at will but lack of pass recognition to finish off line breaks impacted the score

The best of Blue forwards had their way with SC and whilst they had impact and played solidly against Ipswich they couldn't penetrate and finish off as often against Ipswich

If Ipswich were awake in first half and had better pass recognition through the midfield in the 2nd half there probably would have been another 15 to 20 points in it

But Blue outplayed as a team and were more consistently fundamental and I can understand that they felt they deserved the result . They probably did.

Re : NQ and Gold . The reasonable assumption from people who have watched the games were that it was probably at least a 2 try result to Gold.

They just folded down the stretch and didn't close out when they had the lead in the last 15 and couldn't counter the counter attacking brilliance of the NQ backs - 11 especially

So yes .

Boil over

Gold hard done by on Friday night by embarrassing touch judges.

Charge down try not awarded and knock on missed for NQ try.

But watching Reds Waratahs game now what hope is there when the video ref can't even get it right.

In saying all that, it was great effort by both teams. NQ number 11 outstanding, single handedly won the game.

Gold need to learn to not kick the ball away when they have great field position.

Can anyone enlighten us to the injury toll that the Logan U15's have, was vaguely told that the game last week was played on atrocious grounds and Logan got hit hard by a couple of injuries.

Refs aren't perfect but the constant badgering of Refs by Coaches and Supporters on the sidelines during games is really , really bad

Rugby has a problem on its hands that it needs to fix otherwise if you are an aspiring Ref why would you bother ?

It's almost getting to a stage where it's not worth it

Decisions good and bad go both ways in games . It seems as though the whining and bellyaching is about over competitive non participants gone OTT because they don't like the end result or things that happen that in their view can impact the end result .

Maybe they do . Maybe they don't .

But that's Rugby .

Support your Refs !

It may actually help attract more young people who give a hoot and want to do it .

Did you see the Jaguares carrying on like soccer players after a sin binning? Got to be stamped out.

Well put, was going to say something as a few comments posted here were far from the truth.

NQLD No. 11 outstanding & yes single handed won the game with 2 x full field run away tries, the second try one of the best I've seen at this age group. Gold didn't capitalise on first half dominance in territory & possession & turning down 2 shots at goal early in the game proved very costly.(NQLD won by 3)

Knock on before the No. 11's 1st 90m run away Try was just a case of bad luck, rugby 101 (play the whistle) & came from one of Golds attacking penalties right in front of the post, what could have been 10-0 Gold lead (with a shot at goal) became 7-5 in the blink of an eye.

NQLD No. 11 Man of the Match
Gold No. 2 very strong game

Gold's, Ipswich game will feature a few players that haven't seen much game time since the Dominating win in week 1 against Downs so with a win today important for both teams expect fireworks.

0-0 halftime. Ipswich spent a lot of time camped in Gold 22. Gold lucky not have player/s binned for repeated infringements near the try line. Ipswich held up twice and they dropped a few chances too.

Gold have the wind in the 2nd half so interesting to see if they can use it.

Full time 13-12 Gold. Imo Ipswich were the better team- set piece was dominant just too much dropped ball and maybe rueing the decisions not to take penalties in the first half. I don't like to say Gold were lucky but they certainly pulled it out of the fire.
