Which is still entirely speculation. The whole Quade at the Reds vs. Quade in Wallaby camp has been done over a thousand times on here. Only real answer is that nobody really knows, unless someone is best friends with a player and has been holding out.
Going back a little to my other post about transparency from the ARU and Wallabies. If there is truly a rift between Deans and QC (Quade Cooper) or whatever it is that may keep QC (Quade Cooper) out of the Wallabies somewhere-in-between-red-and-green colored jersey then why the fuck was he given the highest contract (reportedly) in Australia after all of that went down?
That was my point; There is no way that Hawker put that contract back on the table without downing a few quiet ones with Deans, McKenzie and Carmichael etc...Form aside, whether QC (Quade Cooper) is going to play the Lions was decided before that Contract was re-tabled. It is not really being worked out now.
As to why the &^%$ would anyone defend him - There was a brief pause between the comments and the nastier elements of the media circus that went on... certainly other Wallabies were approached for comment, and If there had been any truth to what he was saying, I believe players would have spoken-up early-on. Certainly, by the time his contract was withdrawn, the game was lost - and any defense by that stage, would have been futile.
Additionally, QCs comments did not come out of the 'ether' these things never do - there would have been a series of conversations which led up to this statement - For the guilty; look to his Agent, some Journos (who then commenced kicking him) - and some team mates (who then chose to remain silent).
The whole thing reminds me alot of the Matt Rogers saga... Potentially a tremendous Rugby player, but not good in a team when things were not going his way - or when he was not being accorded the deference he (wrongly) believed he deserved. Nice Bloke but Bad Advice.
