Last year I suggested he go to Europe this year and do a Rocky. I was laughed outta town.

TOLD YA

Please take a leaf out of my book and practice some humility in your posting. :p

On Giteau, I don't think Barnes is the answer either. Unless we want to kick possession away and practice sookfacing. I would kill for a Nathan Grey type player in his prime to put his hand up.

Drop him. Make him go back to club rugby and find some bloody spirit. Confidence my arse. He is so used to walking into a Wallaby team like it is his god given right. Give Barnes a try at 12. He must use the ball in hand though. His appearence against Wales at the 2007 RWC seems like a distant memory now but we can think back to what he is capable of. It's like they ruined him.

It would be very interesting to know the truth of the rumours about the blow up between G and Rocky. I am sure a suitably santisied story will be presented to the media by week's end as it was last year.

have people seen more than what was on the tv? I missed it live and eagerly watched the replay in anticipation and it was quite dull. Hardly a blow up. Did I miss something?>

Wasn't featured on the Channel 7 feed, though we tend to miss bits and bobs.

nah mate, 7.

There is something nice about sitting down and watching the rugby on 7 and listening to the bloke who calls the game, and has been for the last 25 years, and not have to think about all the crap, controversy and opinion that gets shouted at you on Foxsports. Just enjoy the rugby...until the ad break.

I went through the footage on the TV, and there isn't much seen. I have used some space age technology (iphone and TV) to bring you the footage of what was on the recording:

Chat 1, about the 30 minute mark

Chat 2, Git's does the half time interview on the field, Rocky waits for him to finish then:

This is a bit of the post match interview, nothing directly, but Rock talks about everyone not being on the same page, while he was talking they cut to Gits... coincidence???

Thing is - shouldn't he be talking to Cooper? I mean, dos he reckon that Giteau is fucking up, or that Giteau is the back's captain and so needs to relay the message to them? I suspect it wasn't personal.

I concur. Looks to me like Rocky singled Gits out as he expected him to be able to help solve the problem, although his comment in the post match conference was somewhat ominous.

You would assume Gits would be in charge of leading the backs as he has 78 test caps

There were actually three instances of Rocky "talking" to Giteau. Little bits of the first and third are shown in the videos posted by Mr Timms. I was sitting in line with both of the first two incidents.

The first occured when Rocky opted for the Wallabies to take a penalty shot. It was on the right side of the field so should have been Giteau's kick. But when Rocky turned around Giteau was too busy giving it to the forwards about something that had happened on the field. I've watched the footage again but the only thing I could see was an occasion where Giteau was calling for the ball and the forwards took it instead. Anyway, when Rocky saw him yelling at the forwards he told Cooper to take the kick and went over and gave it to Gits big time. The footage in the video is the very tail end of it.

Having noticed that, I started watching what was going on between them. The next incident occured in the 38th minute when the Irish prop went down at the scrum. There is no footage of it but you'll notice on the footage that Fainga'a, the Irish hooker and BOD were all being spoken to by the referee about the scrums. Fainga'a then started making the case for Daly to the referee. He had to make the case because Rocky was in mid-field giving it to Gits again - just the two of them and Giteau wasn't saying too much.

Then as Mr Timms pointed out, Rocky waited for Gits at half time and continued the chat.

I watched Gits again in the second half and he flared up a few times when things didn't go well. The spray he gave Beale over that kick was just a continuation of what had been happening for most of the last 50 minutes.

As far as I'm concerned Giteau shouldn't be in the team, his form doesn't warrant selection & I think dropping Giteau would be a big wake up call for a lot of Wallabies.

Deans talks tough but if he actually acted on his threats then he'd probably get the response we're all looking for.

Giteau is still awesome. I can understand if he drops to the bench for the next game, but i think he will get out of this form slump pretty quick. None of the backs right now look that convincing, but they will hopefully gel after another 4 weeks together (well you would hope so).

Anyway, he is still our best 12 and still has that talent he had when playing fly half for the wallabies just 12 months ago. Any calls for him to be dropped from the squad are just laughable.

Excuse me while I piss myself laughing (sorry, being laughable).
He is rank, and historic form is as useful as asking how awesome England are in Diveball (Soccer) - did well once, but so long ago most people have died since it happened.

He needs a kick up the backside or his ego deflated. Dropping him and giving the reason that he's not playing good enough for the Wallabies jersey should do wonders for him. It needs to be done now so he can work it out.
