Good luck Ita Vaea. Would be good to see him regain his old form, and ditto for Poey.

Players to be trialled in different positions. Robbie at 10 - I'd like to see how he goes at 9. James Dargaville at 12 - I'd like to see him have a go at 15 also.

I do think 10 and 12 could be the Brumbies' archilles heel this year if either of Matt To'omua or Christian Lealiifano are hit with serious injury. One can cover for the other, but the back up after that is very inexperienced. Maybe Nigel Ah Wong could be given a go at 12 if needed.

If the injuries can be kept to a minimum, the Brumbies do have the squad to go the whole way this year.

I'm not as optimistic...........

The squad is weaker than it was last season, which was weaker than the year previous - and the results reflected that..............

One of the issues that cost the Brumbies the final in 2013, aside from the travel fatigue, was the quality in depth and they haven't recruited well enough to make up for the losses of the players that have left since.

They've also lost two very important people in Laurie Fisher and Ben Mowen, who have been responsible for the dominance of the forward pack and lineout respectively..........

And there's got to be questions regarding Dan McKellar's capabilities after last year.......

If we can at least make the finals this year I'll be satisfied................

True, but also suspect this is by necessity with revenue from home matches and sponsorhip being shorter. I say 'suspect' because the Brumbies, like the Rebels, do not make their annual reports readily publicly available.

Pocock scores off a rolling maul to bring the Brumbies onto the board 17-7.

Edit: and that's half time.

Force score two more tries to pretty much take the game out of reach 31-14.

Tries to Mitch Scott and Wilhelm Steenkamp.
