i do feel for the lauries XV, they have showed alot of heart. but unfortuneatly have not proceeded with the wins necessary for their efforts. they should not have lost to pats round 2, eddies round 3, and padua round 5 at suncorp.

the ref was very much so in paduas favour awarding penalties that were not existant.

(in jersey order)
No. 1 Billy Rylance - first year of playing prop, strong ball runner, can see him in an AIC team.
No. 8 Tom milosevic - very strong contender for AIC 1 as his defense is outstanding.
No. 9 Simon Gregg - self explanatory, team would be at a stand still without his brilliant attack
No. 15 Joe Crowther - has played exceptional in attack and defense.

No. 1 didnt do much for me on saturday, but i would chuck in Xavier Bell (played 8 against Padua) very strong ball runner and good defender, however i hear he has a bad attitude.

I'd also throw Hayden Russell (6) into contention, had a quality game

when No. 1 got the ball he always made it over the advantage line. but thats just my perspective.

No. 6 is very good in defense, i have also heard that about Xavier. he never seems to pass it when there is a clear overlap.

I have heard that Iona no.7 Brad Wilkin has been in fine form. Queensland u15 last year and the kid is only in grade 10 now, so if not this year I'd expect him to in next year and the year after that. Will be interested to watch him play this week against lauries.

would pick ty brimble on the wing instead of davies, guy can't run in a straight line. And never seen blackman play so can't comment on him playing fullback. Will watch Eddies this weekend though. If he's good it will be between him and Kent for that starting 15 spot. agree on everything else.

I think alot of people on this forum will be surprised when the teams are picked soon. Personally I do not agree with some of the suggestions for these teams. However I could be wrong in saying that, it is just my opinion. I guess we will just have to wait till after this round and see who steps up over the rest.

I agree with this. The proposed team above has 7 Eddies boys in the starting XV. I would think its more reasonable they they get 7 across the 2 squads of 22 for AIC 1 and 2( 7 out of 44 players picked). Without trying to upset anyone, Ashgrove have for many years had the biggest representation even on years that they didnt win the Premiership. I dont think the selection processes have changed too much , though lets wait until next week to see

Exactly what I mean xxxx... One player from a team that is on top. That would be a first in aic history if this happens. But then again I think people will be in for some surprise when the teams are officially announced.

can anyone tell me WHO are these selectors? are they watching every Game?

I'm not sure who they are for AIC but rest assured they would be attending most games. They usually watch 3 or 4 games per team, they then make match reports and once it becomes time for selections they sit around and review standout players. Obviously starting with previous rep players first and so on.. No one really knows who they are because otherwise bias and problems like that would be thrown into the equation.

You're best bet is to just have a look around during big games and see if anyone stands out or is taking particular interest in a game (more so than you're average parent). Mind you the whole idea is that they don't stick out so the chances of identifying one of them is quite low unless you know what to look for. Even then they aren't likely to going to want to speak to you haha. They know who they are looking for during the games and thus they probably won't watch the whole game or pay much attention to younger kid matches.

I have only seen Padua play once this season, and as I have said in earlier Post I was impressed.
Can anyone tell me the names of their no.12 a big boy with a simple game of straight and hard (I was told at the game he play prop in League? which would make sense, fast feet before contact was great)
and one of their locks (line-out Capt) at least both of those boys should be starters in any rep team in my opinion.

12 is Jack Creighton, he played aic 1 last year as a replacement and the other player you are talking about is Alex Perez who is captain
