Daniel Denton you've made your point in several posts. Time to move on.

Is it wrong to raise discussion about a controversial issue and the lack action towards the incident? There is a lack of leadership at that club which has filtered down into age groups as young as 13, it needs to be addressed for the up and coming juniors.

This matter has been addressed by the club. There is certainly no lack of leadership at the club. They work tirelessly to keep the club running. What do you do Daniel Denton?

No, not all, but you've aired your observations several times and it's time to move on.

It has been addressed properly, first by the club and then by the ACTJRU. I suggest that you all leave it alone, as requested by Cyclopath. This is, after all, the schoolboys section of the rugby forum.

Take it up personally with the club or ACTJRU directly. I don't think anybody on this forum can do much about this matter other than agree or disagree with you, and that has been done...several times. Please move on, it's time.

What is going on down at Marist? Considering the raps on their squad this year they haven't really performed to the expectations. Hats off to Grammar, beating Marist on No1 is never an easy day no matter how strong Marist are. Seems sometimes that the boys at Marist think that simply putting on the 1stXV jumper will see you win games. If current form keeps up they will get an absolute smacking at the hands of St Augustines in the Waratah semi this week. As a supporter I really hope they aim up.

What was the score between Grammer and Marist 2nd XV

Looking over the scores from last years Waratah Shield I'll be expecting a big defeat for the lads against St Augustines. Quite sad as I thought this might be the year my Pearce boys would get up over their old foes!

Scores were 25-12 and 45-12 if my sources are not mistaken. Grammar getting up in both games, a sad sight to see.

Interested by Spiky's claim about the Fifita boys, would be a huge loss to Eddies can anyone say if this is true?

I can comfirm the Fifita brothers are no longer playing for Eddies, though this has been the case for most of the season. If anyone has watched Eddies lately you would be surprised that they have been so strong in both the first and second divisions despite the massive injury toll.

It will a cracking match to go watch this weekend between Daramalan and Marist. Whoever wins will finish 3rd and whoever loses will finish 4th. (Remember Dara did beat Marist 23-7 in their last meeting) This is crucial to both sides as making the grand final will seem near impossible if they have to face Eddies in the Semi. However, I'd be backing either of these two teams to knock off Grammar in the Semi Final as I don't think either have hit their true heights yet.

I cant believe what has happened down there at Marist. For the 2nds to get a hiding like this from any side is shocking. Whilst memories are fading with time, once upon a time this would never have happened or been tolerated. It seems an attitude problem exists which given the high levels of participation in rugby still at the school should be nipped in the butt before kids start dropping out to play other sports on offer. Frankly as someone who is an ex-student, player and parent I am embarrassed by the lack of commitment from both players and coaching staff.

Given the recent results of Marist and Dara's improvement this year and Dara victory looms it seems. Marist don't seem to be able to 'get up' this year for the challenges of the big games. As I said, wearing the once prized 1st XV jumper seems to be enough for some. I have seen some players run harder out of the tunnel then they do on the field. It's a real shame.[/quote]

I think you will find that the Marist team that lost to grammer in seconds was actually their third XV as is the way of the U18's Division 2 draw at the moment. One Marist team is in "pool A" whilst another Marist team is in "pool B".

I'd love to see a victory by Daramalan to be honest. I really believe they are the dark horses of this competition and it would be good for them to make the Grand Final for the first time in a very long time! Just like the glory days of the school. The current year 12s at Daramalan have experienced success before, which will hopefully drive them on. They were grand finalists from U13s-U16s (winning 2 and losing 2). As for Marist, well they are still the only team that has really come close to beating Eddies. There is obviously some cohesion among the team when they really give it a go. The opening 10 minutes this weekend will show us how they're going to play.

No doubt there Daniel, they have risen to the challenge against Eddies and been unlucky in some respects to have not beaten them at least once. This makes the failure to rise against the other schools as even more inexplicable. You really don't know who wil turn up some weekends, they may come out and beat Dara well but then again they may not. It is very difficult to predict.

Marist also got beaten in the 16 A's on Saturday which was an upset of sorts. Something of a Grammar ambush on the weekend!! Don't get me wrong, I think it's great the Dara and Grammar are offering some real opposition, that is the only way to develop good footballers. As a long time Marist person, I am just concerned by a few things happening down there which seem to be placing traditions to the side.

I also recall Grammar also losing by 2 points earlier in the season?

Eddies seem to be only just scraping through against the other teams so I'm calling an upset in the next two rounds over the injury stricken Eddies boys!
