2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

King is an enormous human. Something we have lacked in this level for the last few years when Talataiana was unavailable.

In the 19s the NSW backs looked that but slicker but gee it was a good game. I can't see anything getting in the way of either before a rematch in the final.

16s was a surprise to see 50 but they are a good side. Key part for them is to maintain the rage and not slack off because QLD will have to come our flying against them in the final.

King's presence is a game-changer. NSW backs in the 19s were sharp, and it’s shaping up for a great rematch in the final. The 16s' big win was impressive, but they’ll need to stay focused—QLD will come hard in the final!

16s to be a cricket score but 19s I’ll tip NSW with a BP but always think this one gets gritty with the players all knowing each other so well and many in School sides together last year.

You know it’s a good 16s outfit when one of the leading try scorers from the GPS 1st XV is on the bench. Dempsey (backrow)

Speaking of, Oscar Jorg has been impressively solid this tournament IMO. Looks strong in contact, finds himself in the right places. The match up against Enasio should be interesting.

Tough battle for the Aus 12 jersey with Fakafanua and Dre Pakeho trucking about.

Does anyone know if he'll be available for the 20s next year?

With Pakeho, Fakafanua and Goldsbrough returning there is probably 1 spot up for grabs... OJ could play 12 & 13 but a guy like Grover could cover 11,12,13,14 if needed. Fakafanua has played quite a bit of Fullback as well so plenty of options floating around.

I remember in the NSW v QLD U18s games in 2023 (I'm pretty sure it was) Fakafanua gave Pakeho a pretty hard time in both fixtures. It did surprise me to see him have such a quick rise at the back end of the year last year and eventually play for the Reds v Wales. I know form from then shouldn't be considered too much but the Force have a good one there. He'll continue to fill out and isn't another Ollie Cummins

Agreed. Backs have great depth across all positions it seems. U20s won't have the biggest backline but skill and speed aplenty. Prop and backrow stocks look good too, probably second row and hooker wide open.
