Well HJ, you'd probably assume the Rebels and Gen Blue are at about the same level. Gen Blue second of five teams on the round robin table - same points as the Rebels and only ahead of the Rebels by a fors and againsts difference of 2 or 3 points only, and not in the final because the Rebels defeated Gen Blue head to head. Fair enough result, but means they are pretty much on par with each other on balance.
So, while they weren't great, and most are disappointed with their performance v Rebels, we are judging them against past performances. They weren't any worse than the Rebels overall. I reckon they would have had a similar result in Brizzy today, though it occurs to me the backs might have been smoked.
So, I'd expect more of the NSW piggies to get picked for the extended squad than their princesses. The forwards had the Rebels by the short and curlies and monstered their scrums. It was the backs - almost exclusively - who dropped ball after ball, fell off tackles, let the Rebels sweep around past their flanks with relative ease, and gave away two intercept tries.
You might expect mostly Reds in the extended, with a smattering of largely Gen Blue piggies and some Rebels backs, plus one or two from Brumbies and Force to provide credible hope for future Aus 20s aspirants.
