Ahh, sorry. My bad, I guess I get caught up when people start rating SA hookers that dont have warships named after them. Sure he hasnt had alot of gametime, but surely within 5 seasons you would be identified as a bright prospect (starting or otherwise) and be given a starting gig if you were indeed a bright prospect.

Not saying that he couldnt develop into a test player (I'm not counting the freebie he got in 2010) but waiting his turn for 4 years to get regular game time says it all.

Boet what are you on about?

Nobody said he should play tests.

Ok bright prospect is a bit much but the guy left the Bulls because he had no chance of ever starting behind Chiliboy and Botha.

So he went where he could start and then had a poor injury run.

I would take him back at the Bulls in place of Willie bloody Wepener tomorrow.

All I am saying is: Great players get fast tracked.

F Steyn
Goosen
Oosthuisen

Im sure our international friends could add to my list quite easily.

@ 26 Maku is 2 years Bismarks junior. Maku has been in the SA Rugby system (SARU's Radar) since 2006. He is neither a Bright prospect, nor is he still considered a young player IMO.

But thats just my opinion, as harsh as it may sound (to the player). But his time to shine is now, so hopefully he can prove me wrong.

Make is a good player who is behind 5 or 6 other hookers in the the pecking order and possibly more.

Does this mean he is not a good player who has some potential if he gets as proper starting run and stay injury free.

Happy now?

Oh and now he denies signing with the Kings. Seems they jumped the gun. The Lions have told them to get farqued.

So what happens when the Lions relegate the Kings in 2013. Do the Kings get another crack at relegating the Lions in 2014?

Seems like a good way to keep having the weakest team in the comp. What chances of building a competitive roster when they only play S15 every second year.

There is the other side of the coin. It put pressure on all SA's franchise to not end up with the wooden spoon. By 2015 Sanzar will have the brand new S18 and Australia will struggle with more player depth.

Applying logic to this is not going to get you very far.

I just read that article. Seems they jumped the gun with Vergallo as well. Apparently he is contracted to Toulouse until 2014. The Kings really are a basket case.

If I were a Lions player, I would rather spend a year out of Super Rugby than sign for the Kings. The interesting thing in that article is that the acting Lions CEO said the Kings have not approached the Lions about loaning any of their players.

Kevin de Klerk is also pretty much pissed off with the Stormers and Cheetahs aswell. They were suppose to back the Lions but voted for the Queens. Also the reason why Jankies and Taute havent been official transferred to the Stormers for SupeRugby. Will probably after saturdays test.

Interesting for Father Kots Watson who use all his political correctness to motivate the Queens case and now he want 6 oversea players to his squad. Vokken stupid doos. EP had Danie Gerber and Tobie Oosthuizen as coaches on their books but they were the first to be fired by Mr Kots (Snr) Watson.

Looks like Argentinian scrumnhalf Nicholas Vergallo, Bandise Maku and Hadleigh Parkes will be playing for the Kings next year. Story here.

While it is good to see one of the Argentinians getting a gig in Super Rugby, surely he could have done better than the Kings?

I also thought that the Kings were there to develop talent on the Eastern Cape. Yet they sign an Argentinian and a kiwi.

Well it seems that now the SARU has denied the Kings more than 2 spots for foreign players. So with Kiwi prop Clint Newland and Samoan wing Paul Perez already on the books, neither Vergallo, Parkes nor any other foreign player can be signed.

Yeah, it was pretty much established that Vergallo would not be playing for the Kings, courtesy of the other article I linked above. However, I did not know that SARU had pulled the pin on the aspirations of the Kings re: signing foreign talent.

That means that the Parkes signing was a farce. Either that, or Parkes has signed with the Kings, and they are now in a pickle because the SARU said 'no' to more foreign players. I would think in that situation that Parkes' contract would not be registered, leaving the player out in the cold.

This situation can be entirely placed on the Kings' doorstep. No wonder the Lions are cockblocking them at every opportunity. I thought the off field issues of the Lions were farcical. They pale in comparison to the mess the Kings are in.

By now it is patently clear that SARU is setting the Kings up to fail.

The plan is almost fool proof.

Give them just one year, get the Lions to refuse their requests for players, strengthen the other provinces by Lions players going to them on loan and refuse the foreign players.

I think there should be an outrage over this but there doesn't seem to be.

Stormers should win the comp next year.

They have the players but their coaches have now had three years and can't put an attacking plan together for shit.

I hope that changes and they get to score points when it matters. Like in a semi final.

WP do much better in the CC since they realise we are on the wrong road. Scored 23 tries and still the least against them, 17. This without their Bok personel, so lets hope they will explode now for the business end.
