I really don't get the Tapaui controversy. He played okay apart from bombing a try (which, IMO, basically also describes most of Horne's performances). He ain't the messiah, but he's not a very naughty boy either. It's one bloody test. He did okay -- some good stuff, some shit stuff. One good line shouldn't be cause for worship, nor should one butchered try.

Been between the Rugby replay & the Cricket. Saw enough to see that it was a scrappy affair but given the situation with injuries, etc I thought we did well to win it.

It has already been said but whoever has that laser needs to be found & have it shoved up their backside. What a douche.

I think Digby's sub par performance can be justified by his earlier Tweet "Thank god for the strength that I played the full 80min. Knee was killing me..... Proud to be a wallaby...."

Hopefully he's back at 100% for Brissy.

I wouldn't call that justified at all, if he was suffering from an injury he shouldn't have played. That said maybe Shipperley was injured too and we're just about out of wingers..

Atleast he scored that eye candy try. Remember the good old days when the wallabies actually scored tries? #MoreSetPieceMovesPlease

By that logic a lot of the current crop wouldn't be playing.

If they dropped out for every injury there would be a bunch of people calling them soft fluffybunnys or something along those lines.

I was more thinking of his management of Burgess. Back in his "never use the bench" days, Burgess languished on the bench and thought..why am I bothering? More judicious use of the bench and an eye on the future from Deans would have kept Burgo at the Tahs and Wallabies.

In regards to Nick White, he was well and truly OK to play depsite needing shoulder surgery. He was told that he was required in the squad so he delayed his surgery, and then Deans picked Phipps ahead of him so the Brumbies rightly cracked the shits and sent him off for surgery.

Deans needs to be cut some slack due to the injury crisis we find ourselves in, but it shouldn't be forgotten there are some contributing factors that have made it worse than it needs to be. Imagine if Sharpe had told him to stick it and not played on for this series.

Maybe Sharpe only stayed because Deans managed him well. Obviously he had something to do with it, so perhaps he gets a tiny side of credit with his sirloin of criticism (Edit: I don't mean criticism just from you Charger, more generally).

There's two types of injuries, ones that are restrictive and ones that aren't restrictive but cause pain.

I don't disagree, but I think putting everything back on Deans is an easy option and achieves little in my opinion.

I believe we've played 38 players this test season and that includes (I think) 3 fly halves, 7 centre pairings, 7 wing pairings, and 5 fullbacks.

There is a lot we need to improve but I think a new coach at this point would be merely finding a scapegoat.

Players need to improve across the board. They are professionals and they need to improve their consistency.

Not all of the turnover in positions was due to injury though. There was three other major factors:

1. Selecting non form players in the welsh series and start of the 3n
2. Changing positions of players (eg Barnes and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) have both played in 3 different spots)
3. The scheduling of the Scotland match

Am I the only one who thinks that was a solid performance bar the handling errors? I was happy with the effort and intensity and reckon Deans should stay after that performance? No?

That performance was good considering, but Deans has finally started doing things that many subscribers here have suggested for quite a while, like using your bench earlier.
Also Douglas's injury forced Timani to lock and brought Higgers on - a move that Deans should have used at the start of the game.
Also he puts Tapuai in for his first test out of his natural position at 13 rather than his natural position at 12 for his first run on test, leaving the one dimensional McCabe at 12. The only reason the outside backs saw the ball at times was from Beale's long cut out passes.
Dingo cannot adapt as a coach, so he should still be hooked. The team showed lots of guts & character - that's the Aussi way - not the Deans way!

Being an interpreter for TOCC, I believe 'S' stands for Shit, which is his consideration of the previous post.
Rather than deigning to raise the standing of the previous post by a considered reply, he is in fact indicating his total contempt for the post with the single character 'S'.
Cutting stuff.

McCabe has been a consistent performer for the Wallabies at 12.

For at least the next season, I'd be suggesting that if Tapuai wants anything more than a bench spot, he needs to look at playing 13. I don't think he's about to replace McCabe at 12.

Just watched the replay, I was surprised at how inept the Pumas were, easily their worst performance of the series.

That said, the Wobbs did well to get the result.

Something has to be done about the number of penalties, but I do not know what. The game is being strangled as a spectacle.

This was your typical Aussie performance under Deans. Stuttering in attack but resolute none the less.

There were a few bright sparks in this game for me.
- Robinson looks like he may have (fingers crossed) finally turned the corner regarding his match fitness / recovery from injury. He scrummaged strongly and made a few telling tackles
- Higgers was outstanding and played himself back into the no.6 jersey IMHO.
- Beale is looking the part at flyhalf. He is a real attacking threat and unlike Cooper he missed no tackles.

For mine, it was a terrible game to watch. The handling errors from both sides was poor, even taking into account the conditions. The amount of coughed up ball in the tackle was incredible.

I got the feeling that Los Pumas had already played this game in their heads before the actual kick-off. I don't think they just assumed all they had to do was turn up to win, but I think there was enough media comment to make them think they did have one hand on the victory already.

As for the Wallabies, situation normal. The boys dug deep and got the job done in the face of a large injury toll, a seemingly thrown-together-at-the-last-minute set of playing combinations and a lack of anything resembling a working game plan.

Forget the bombed try and the obvious high ball issues; the lads went to the Pumas den and got the choccys.

What this game did for me more than anything else, is put to bed the talk of the Wallabies not having heart or wanting to represent their country the best they can. They did. Well done lads.

This was a players victory.

PS: The laser scum should be found and banned for life. They are a cancer on the magnificent Pumas team.

McCabe has been consistent, I agree. I don't agree he has been consistently great or even consistently very good, and I suspect our match ratings would show that.

Has he been solid? Yes. Should we expect more than just solid from a player that appears to have a mortgage on a starting position? Damn Yes.
