I think you will find that the bookies spread removes any arbitrage opportunity.
I wonder who the backup lineout caller is? Has to be either Dennis or Higginbotham you'd assume.
Why would Hugh Pyle be useful now if he was in the squad? As another loose head lock, he'd be behind Sharpe and Simmons in the pecking order.

Actually, he is the example.
people have vociferously defended him no matter the circumstances.
Remember the Test against England? He missed 9 of 11 tackle attempts,yet still had the unquestioning support of the Reds followers.I won't even bother talking about some of the unsavoury incidents that he has been involved in.There must be something in the water up there.

Both Fainga'a twins seem to really have brought this into their game this year and I'm really not a fan. There is a big difference between being physical and aggressive and just being a dirty player.

Simmons is going real well.
Let's hope Robbie uses the bench more effectively this week.
I think his bench use was fine in the first game. Certainly far better than most of his time in charge. I don't think Hooper got a run because he had to be saved in case Pocock needed to come off.
Moore and Slipper could have both come on a little sooner but at least they got decent game time.
Beale could have been dragged for Mitchell but I can also see why he was left on. He might have been having a shocker but he is also one of the most likely players to do something amazing and win the game.
Saia may have had a few niggly encounters this year, but I struggle to recall Ant Fainga'a doing anything like this before. I don't think it can be called a trend on that basis. I don't like this stuff though - make a good hard tackle, but these type of clean-outs of marginally involved players can be a short step away from a card.
That said, a good, hard, legitimate cleanout or tackle can crack some ribs - part of the game.

picks on a side if we didn't have any injuries/fitness worries- Beale,JOC (James O'Connor),Digby,AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper),Barnes,Cooper ,Genia, Palu,Higgers,Pocock,Sharpe,Horwell,Kepu,Moore,Robinson..Bench- Mitchell,Lucas,Lealiifano,Palmer,Vickerman,TPN,Hooper....I can dream can't I???..on a serious note..for the first time in a long time I think this might be a good game. If..and its more an IF.. we can hold that front row up ,I think we will have some fun running the Shadow dwellers around. You will find a vastly different bunch of guys on the paddock this week. These guys are Wallabies and they can get overdone,nervous etc call it what you will but they are always there to win otherwise they wouldn't be there in the first place. Nerves will be gone because no one gives them a chance,Eden park now just becomes a place where everyone will be sipping DBs and expecting a victory. So what if they pan Quaide..he's been there done that. Barnes will be super calm because he now knows the countries with him and not waiting for Quaide. Higgers will fire because he's had his bad one as will Fat cat. Hooper looks to me to be like a kid who will chase the slippery pig all day because its what he loves. Timanis improving everygame and Mitchell has been to hell and back so what else can happen. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper),Sharpy and Horne will be solid and hard and KB (Kurtley Beale) will come on with 15 mins to go and show everyone why is the chosen one by scoring on the bell to break the hoodoo and win us that big mug back....Go the Wallabies

There's some good reasons not to:
1) Phipps is rubbish, if Genia gets injured early in the game we would lose anyway.
2) If Genia doesn't get injured - then Phipps misses out playing club rugby, gets worse, and takes the space of a back who could potentially be useful.
3) Genia will never be subbed against the Springboks or Darkness. Genia gets more dangerous later in the game.
4) A versatile player can cover injuries for the entire backline, as he can move to wing, fullback, or 5/8 and let the backline reshuffle.
5) Deans doesn't even sub his players when they are injured (see Pocock) so Genia would have to be KTFO and I've never seen that look likely.

Deans basically said last week that having a 5/2 split was a no brainer for them, an obvious choice. What has changed in a week? I doubt the forwards got any fitter.
Another admission of how wrong he got it in the first game?

Should of seen Mitchell on, when the centres were lacking. We need AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) in the midfield. Enough of last week I guess.
Still think it's poor that we don't have a dedicated reserve lock. Considering Sharpe's age also.

I don't think he ever calls it a cheap shot. He calls it aggressive, and claims that we are often aggressive when we're trying to intimidate - mistaking the two. I'd be keen to see some video before it's labelled as anything. Saia has definitely brought some thug tactics into his game - which I detest. Can't say the same for Ant but.

Go back over the threads Champ, there was more than one rabid supporter defending the undefendable.
What qualifier should have I used, some or most supporters?Bearing in mind very few if any actually criticised him, which can be argued as tacit support.

On the one hand we saying the Wallabies need more aggression, more mongrel and when they do get out there and bash them it's cheap shots and we say tone it down.
This isn't tiddly winks get out there and bash them, I'm pretty sure the Boks & AB's do the same when you're not looking.
