Ah longbacks - a mysterious creature indeed. Most people know of them yet there are only a few that would be considered "knowledgeable" when the topic comes up. Likened to the Yeti, they are scarcely seen unless caught hopelessly out of their natural environment. Sorry but I have to call that as BS. Saying that we weren't in that game is akin to saying we are lucky that the AB's were off or it could've been a blow out. It was kept close by the fact that we had nearly as many points as the AB's.

We were within 5 points with 10 mins to go. We spent time inside their 22 but couldn't score so yes we didn't win, but we certainly were in the game. Maybe the AB's were lucky we had an off night or else we would've won.

Exactly my point. Neither side played well and it was still close in the end. If one of them had've actually played well then the other side would've lost.

Both these things might be true but for more than 20 minutes of the second half we were within five points. Whatever was happening on the field, we were close enough on the scoreboard that we were in touch.

The way we played, we should have lost by a lot more, but it also wouldn't have taken a whole lot for the result to have ended in a massive boilover with a vastly outplayed side winning.
