Don't do it ACR. It's not worth getting yourself excited for what will be an inevitable last-minute heartbreaking loss.

haha. To be honest, just between you and I, I don't think we'd even get that close. Nice to dream though. Besides Naki might be good for the win next week.

Standings as of Saturday the 1st.

I don't really understand that either. Word is, he liked to get violent when on the bottle, but I thought that was sorted.
Long time ago and not any more. Good bloke. Stuck behind Hore, Mealamu and, at the Chiefs, Schwalger.

Taranaki v Tasman was a great game to watch as long as you could ignore the poor defence on both sides. Very entertaining, thought Tasman's poor decision making cost them a chance of winning. Especially the quick tap when they had a penalty in the Taranaki half.

That's Ranfurly Shield rugby - it does funny things to players' brains... David Latta, for example...

Sorry bro.

;) No worries, if I drank over Otago rugby I'd be one liver short of having a liver. Tough times as a fan make the highs worth it. a.l.a if you were a City fan during last year's EPL.
Also the reason I have no sympathy for the Wallaby Bledisloe drought, they'll get it back one day, (although I'll have a few when that happens).

Yes some of the defence was very suspect, but what was outstanding was the work of the outside backs in running on to the ball at full tilt from deep. That at any level is very hard to stop combined with some real pace as shown by both fullbacks and wingers tonight.

Gutted for Tasman but two killers were the 68th minute not taking the penalty and then minutes later the tap and run by the Tasman no8 instead of kicking for the corner for a LO at least.

Great to watch and very exciting.

Hawked Bay get their turn next.

Haha, don't worry bro, I'm on the other side of that coin. Been supporting Utd ever since the 1995 fa cup final, favourite colour was Red (and because my best mate supported them), growing up in NZ then it was either Liverpool or United. Same with the AB's since the 95 world cup, I was watching at around midnight as a 7 y/o, I saw Jeff Wilson coughing up his guts on the sideline. 1995 was the year I was old enough to realise I would spend my life riding the ups and downs of these two teams. Luckily for me, two of the most successful teams in sport :D. Otago is the counter weight, as of the turn of the century anyway.

Also, go turbo's and stag's.

I am so pissed I missed this game it sounded like "attacking rugby 101"! Ma did get to watch it & she said it was amazing but like you & others she could not understand why the hell they did not go for the penalty!?

Currently watching Auck v Mana.

A couple of lopsided games today, (HT and Wellington dominating the Stags) big signs for some fresh talent though. Charles Piutau showing his bright future for Auckland and 18 y/o Ardie Savea carving it up for Wellington. Gordan Tietjens and the Sevens system continues to pump out the stars. That guy should have received a knighthood before Graham Henry. EDIT: He has a NZ Order of Merit so pretty close anyway.

I recently moved and all the usual systems have taken a kick to the groin. How did Charlie Ngatai go for Welly? He's our replacement of sorts for that SBW fulla at the Chiefs.

Heard whispers of a #8 with the Wellington Axemen club who is 6'7 and 110 kg and 20yrs old. Supposedly too young for Wellington ITM cup. Can we please borrow him?

Nothing outrageous, catch and pass sorta thing, didn't see much of him at 13. Shaun Treeby is playing 12 so he likes to hit the line himself, perhaps diminishing Ngatai's influence a bit. Standouts have been Treeby, Leiua and man of the match Ardie Savea.

Savea had a big impact on the game. He is still very young, isn't he?

Is he related to the other Savea (wing) from Wellington that started with the Darkness against the Spud Bashers?

Yep Jarse, he younger brother, I like the look of this kid, and not just his running with ball, got a bloody good work rate, Any young fella that chases kicks etc as hard as him is going to be very good!!!

If you look at his second try he is the man that turns the ball over prior, he ripped it out of someone's hands. He had a couple of other turnovers as well and looks hard working. Of course people will be more aware of him now, it'll be hard to replicate those performances here on in.
