    Waratahs vs Sharks - RD5 2012

Tahs haven't looked too bad on attack. Got caught out wide by some hard running from depth from the Sharks out wide.

    Waratahs v Samoa Trial - Tamworth - 10th Feb

How have the Samoans looked? Have the Tahs just been too good, or have their opposition been woeful or a combination of both?

    Rebels 2012

Jeez, if the Chiefs forward pack are starving you of ball, then you are really gonna struggle to keep possession. What a waste of attacking talent.

    Freakonomics: home-field advantage

I'm not saying its some sort of conspiracy, but its understandable that he did swallow his whistle. I think Bryce Lawrence in the SA vs. Aus semi is a good example of what happens when a ref is overwhelmed by pressure and as a result their decision-making slows and is less accurate.

    Freakonomics: home-field advantage

I remember reading some psychological research once that found crowd noise has an impact of decision-making when referees have to decide whether to award a penalty against the home team, and indeed award significantly less penalties against the home team. Which is why I wasn't surprised that...

Wallabies vs Wales, Sunday Dec 4

Maybe he was referring to his man-love for Lee? That's what I saw it as anyway.

Wallabies vs Wales, Sunday Dec 4

Don't pick Cooper until he learns to defend. That should be motivation enough.

Wallabies vs Wales, Sunday Dec 4

Salesi has definitely been better in the scrum than Alexander. Taf (when healthy) is probably a shade better than Moore in that aspect.

    Wallabies vs Barbarians

Oh I agree completely. But I'm just getting stats from Foxsports. I'm sure that professional teams would gather information concerning defensive misreads and chase-down tackles, not just because it helps them gameplan against opposition, but also identify weaknesses of their own that they need...

    Wallabies vs Barbarians

Eh, I'd question the view that Phipps is a bad defender. He lead all halfbacks in tackles during the super 15 with 188 tackles (the next highest being Sheehan with 110) and made 81% of his tackles. Comparatively, if we look the top ten halfbacks in terms of tackles made - Vermaak made 86%...

    Wallabies vs Barbarians

Yeah I'm not sure why the commentator blamed Mortlock for that. He took Barnes (which was the right decision) and Fruean took...air.
