    QLD Premier Rugby 2025

I would love to see Toowoomba enter Hospitals Cup. It won't happen because it would kill the local competition, but it would be great to see all the Downs products being able to play for a Toowoomba team. Downs Rugby are a really well run union, with their own building (about to be extended)...

    Ballymore Redevelopment

Twickenham Station is about 2ks from Twickenham and a lot more people do that walk on match days than would be walking to Ballymore. Do up Wilston Station and put a decent bridge over the creek and educate people to walk. I've done the Twickenham walk in mid-winter - Brisbane in mid-winter (and...

    Wallabies 2024

Good to see Harry Hoopert back in the mix after his dreadful injury run. I thought he looked decent in the brief bits I saw of him on the Force's SA tour. I think he did his first knee playing for Australia A.

    Queensland Reds 2025

I really like the look of Joe Brial as well.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I don't mind Hunter, but what I don't like are his rushes out of the defensive line to try for a big hit. They are spectacular when they come off, but most times they leave a big defensive hole which is not there when Stewart plays. I also think Stewart brings in his outside players more.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Faessler is a class above Nasser. Has been all year at the Reds and is for the Wallabies as well. Not saying Nasser is bad by any means, just not at Faessler's level. I would keep them both in the squad - no need for BPA at this stage.

    Wallabies 2024

I'm with you - I like his articles. I met him at a Roar function in Lyon before the Australia-Wales game and he's a really good bloke. As were Geoff Parkes, Tony Harper and Morgs.

    QLD GPS 2024

There was a little thing called the Olympics happening in case anyone missed it. Playing it at night meant it would clash with Nine's prime time Games coverage and they couldn't play at 5.30 because NZ-Argentina was playing then. They managed to sell it out so not a terrible outcome anyway.

    QLD GPS 2024

If you read this story closely it actually says nothing and is a typical News beat-up bash rugby story. Abdo has spoken to "some" heads from Sydney GPS schools is the meatiest part of the story. The rest is NRL propaganda that we see every year. There'll be a AFL in GPS schools yarn next...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

I've always rated Gordon. He's had a thankless task at the Tahs over the past couple of years as captain of an underperforming side but was often their best player. Very happy for him to be first choice 9.
  13. The Phoenix

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

I'm a mad Queensland fan but I don't over-hype our players, for example I think it is too soon for Lynagh -- he needs another Super Rugby season to show consistency and to put some more meat on his bones. If he was true Wallaby material he would have started every game for the Reds at 10 when he...
  14. The Phoenix

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

What's the common denominator with these players being hyped up and then chosen before they are ready - that's right, they are mostly Waratahs. One good game for the Tahs and you're the next big thing. Three good games and you're actually in the Wallabies squad. With 90 percent of rugby media...

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

I'm astonished that with such knowledge that you're not part of Schmidt's team. Then you could have saved him from making such a huge mistake of picking Stewart for the squad then keeping him there.
  18. The Phoenix

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

On that I wouldn't be surprised if Paisami gets a rest and it's White, Donaldson and Stewart at 9,10 and 12.
  19. The Phoenix

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

There has to be a reason he is still with the squad and hasn't been released to play club rugby so I wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets a run this weekend. Plus he seems to fit the Schmidt mould - no-nonsense, plenty of hard work off the ball and a superb defender. Can also cover 12, 10 and...

    Australian Rugby / RA

But the Qld Country team had players like Hamish Stewart and Harry Hockings playing for them because they were from from Toowoomba and I think Theodore. Most of them had come from the country and gone to boarding school in Brisbane or Toowoomba. It was only in positions like the front row that...
