    Rugby TV Shows

I have to say. I get a little fed up with watching the hosts rap on all night about the Waratahs and the Reds. Theres 3 other franchises out there, who are doing just as well if not much better then these two and never, ever get much of a rap, and when they do get a mention its usually a...

2014 IRB Junior World Championship – New Zealand

I am currently sitting watching last years final - SA vs NZ. It was fast, extremely physical, and of a very high standard. If these two sides have teams of this calibre this year, our ozzie boys are in trouble! Most of these boys are all super 15 contracted this year and I can see why. It was a...

    John I Dent Cup 2014

It would be nice to see Vikings get up by that much, but for memory both games they played last year were extremely tight and pretty much won on the bell. Different sides this year though, so it should be a cracker.

    John I Dent Cup 2014

In the first grade game I thought the Eagles started pretty strong in the first 20 mins and it was looking pretty tight for a while, then Vikings just seemed to get there mojo on and really ran away with it especially in the second half. They have a great deal of depth at the club and all...

    John I Dent Cup 2014

Congrats to the ACT boys who've made OZ 20's. Tom Staniforth - Second Row - Royals (also made Vice Captain) Joe Powell - 9 - Vikings. Rowan Perry - 7 - Vikings. Andrew Robinson - Utility Back - Vikings Commiserations to Joel Penders who unfortunately missed out from Royals. Its great to see so...

    John I Dent Cup 2014

All I know about the 5 from Q'byn is that he's a big boy. He he. I'd hate to have to feed him every night. I was standing along side Jaryd Butler from Brumbies who said they used to play club together up in Brizzy.

    John I Dent Cup 2014

The 6 this week was one of the Oakman-Hunt twins. Michael played at 6 due to a neck injury a few weeks before, and his identical twin Dean played at 5. They have come through the ranks of junior vikings footy and colts. Played ACT school boys and under 20's brumbies as well as Oz Presidents side...

    John I Dent Cup 2014

The Vikings had a few of there young boys up in QLD for U'20's OZ camp. I think they really missed young Joey Powell at 9, and Clinton Dale (9) is still coming into form from injury. This was his first game back and he was given some grief from Q'byn who he played for last season. I think its...

    John I Dent Cup 2014

This game should be a cracker. First grade kick off is 7.40pm apparently. Might go down and take a peak!

    John I Dent Cup 2014

My Bad. 3rd grade lost not 4ths with Vikings. I thought the Uni 1st grade team were definitely a much better team then last year. I think they can definitely give a few teams a good crack this year!

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

A wonderful response MST. We need to stop all the negativity and get out there and support this competition, otherwise there won't even be a team to support next year. We need supporters coming to the games, paying gate fees, buying merchandise and being proud of our local team. WHO CARES what...

    John I Dent Cup 2014

I was out at the UNI - VIKINGs games today. Vikings won all but 4th grade. Lots of new faces on both teams which was great to see. Any news from other clashes today

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

You like to think that the boys from ACT Griffins would have a crack at either starting or bench? I imagine boys like Tim Cree, Rodney Iona, Tom Staniforth, Alan Alaatoa and the like would have to have a pretty good chance? I am spreading the word far and wide, to a lot of my non rugby friends...

    John I Dent Cup 2014

I hear Easts have a lot of new players from NZ for firsts apparently. That could make things more interesting. They are putting a lot of effort into there colts this year, in hope of it all translating down the track into a good/competitive first grade side in the next few years.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Just putting it out there, but everyone appears to have forgotten about Lealifano? He was the number one conversion kicker for the Wallabies. Rarely missed a kick. In some of the tighter matches that can make a hell of a difference. He can play 10 or 12. I presume he will be in the mix for...

Apologies, my bad. It was Warringah

    John I Dent Cup 2014

The colts lost also. From what I've heard, 1sts lost 6 tries to 4. First 2 tries from Manly were from broken play, all of vikings tries were from set peace play. Supporters say Vikings had the upper hand most of the game.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

I think my opinion was based purely on the fact of comparison. "If" Pocock hadn't had his major injury and stats of both players. I still think Pocock would have had the upper hand in this area. But so he should have. He has had more time at the higher level in this position. I love the way...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

I think Hooper has a much better running game with ball in hand then Pocock. But Hooper has still some work to do on his counter rucking/pilfering then Pocock. It would have been a tough call.
