    Drua v Brumbies, Rd 1 2025, Feb 15 1:35pm

Yes - but that is unlikely to be repeatable against international sides. That said, he is a top class Super Rugby player.

Yes - 3 missed tries with dropped passes with the line beckoning?

Ben Earl is not a #7 for me - I know he plays there for his Club, but both Tom and Ben Curry are better # 7s/6s - England seem quite interchangeable there. I thought Willis was very good at #8, which explains why Earl plays #7 for his Club.

Just watched Italy vs Wales - kudos to Italy; back to back wins in 6N in Rome, and a new low for Wales. Wales kick / chase so repetitive and poor execution - Wales drop to 12th in the Rankings.

Decent revenue for an U20s Match.

Watching ENG vs FRA U20s (20 -10 To Eng after 75) at The Rec (Bath) and the stadium looks full - not sure if the game is free entry. Amazing crowd numbers, and great TV coverage on BBC iPlayer. England wrap up the game with a breakaway try in 82nd minute.

Nothing official - so far hearing Italy evaluating hosting the (current format) Championship in 2025 while 2026 goes to 16 teams. The Trophy evolves to a new 'Cross Border' format in 2026. I heard that APAC U20s Tier 2 Nations are organising European Tours for 2025 to keep their players engaged.

Many of them have silent benefactors - it's what we need more of here.

Japan League One quite likely for some I imagine.

Good for some back row and some backs. Not ideal for development of our props and 2nd rows. But I get your point.

Super Rugby Pacific 2025 pre-season trial match thread

Yes - Reimer won the #7 battle today, hands down.

    Waratahs 2025

Good review - interested to read other thoughts. I can't see Gamble starting at #7 for long once Adamson gets used to Super Rugby.

    Waratahs 2025

Well - yes it was a trial - a draw was fair. Brumbies 2nd string side very impressive against a very strong Waratahs side - shame we didn't get to see JAS. Adamson the new #7 looked good when he came on at half-time; very active and mobile. TT caused a lot of trouble in the scrum when he came...

    Oh dear - nil points!

One to talk about for the Uni Students - the day I played against a team of Wallabies.

Super Rugby Pacific 2025 pre-season trial match thread

A game vs Academy players and University Students - not sure what to unpick from a score like that.
  17. S

    Queensland Reds 2025

Yes - it is all about the planning - Bristol using their strongest side in the Premiership Cup on Sat, so tonight's Red's game is vs Academy and Uni Students. Let's hope no injuries from this.

    Northern Hemisphere/6N Rugby

Agreed - but watch out for Pollard; one for the near future.

    Northern Hemisphere/6N Rugby

Tigers wanted him to stay. Cheika's decision - so the article states.
  20. S

    Queensland Reds 2025

That's very true - NH play so many more games than us; one of the differentiators in standards imho - timing of the tour over the 6N period is certainly questionable.
