Good to hear Shore have joined the chase. Now we dont have to fret about another member school being eventually consigned to un-competitive status. With at least 6 of the 9 schools now making places for talented sportsmen, time for the Heads to drop the pretend agreements on who/when/how...

Was at The Knox v New game yesterday. Wonderful game of rugby. Knox showed patches of brilliance , ruggedness and skillful speed . Along with the results coming through from Waverley matches each week , cant wait for a combined competition to get going.

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

The desire for the GPS member schools to not do all they can to be the best at everything ( including all competitive sports) seems to prevail on this thread. Don't quote their rules to me, nearly none of the schools has always complied with the sporting scholarship rules so the rules are an...

Prediction 1: The changed competition format wont make any difference to school rugby recruitments Prediction 2 : The new 1 round competition with trial games against CAS just sets up a structure for a larger competition later ( one which was supposed to happen next year but didn't)

It would, IMO, certainly generate a lot of interest if all 3 associations combined into one rugby competition. And, in the top level GPS competition , it probably cant afford to lose anymore participants.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

A 9 school GPS of which 6 play top level rugby, and 5 regularly win those matches. Seems like a compelling case to try and grow the game. Bring on the CAS and the ISA.

Not surprising. Grammar Edgecliff play the top team from every school in Under 12's. Well its a great development and one many will hope isn't a one-off.

For the future....in the 2016 CIS Primary School rugby rep team are 3 Grammar boys (next best GPS representation is Scots with 2)

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

After 15 games of round 1, Shore Newington and Joeys have won 3 games between them. Those sides are starting to look threatening and this competition may well be decided, not on the form of the top three, but on who ran into the bottom three when they turned up to play.

This thread is toxic, based on some perceived wrong done to the rugby status quo. Whatever the reason was the GPS was formed, it has become a bad marriage. Time to lose it and let like minded schools form new associations . Then we can lose this thread so people cant bully and cross kiss anymore.

If Shore supporters express a need to find improvement in their systems regarding Rugby then go for it. But don't suggest Shore is in danger of relegation to the 3rds competition.....Shore is a competitive and effective participant in the 1's and 2's competition, has been and I see no reason...

If my maths are correct , ignoring the first round match between Newington and Scots, the for/against differential for both Newington and Scots from the other 4 matches that each played is +68 points...the same.

If the referee had signalled that he was blind then the 4 Joeys players the New prop ran through would have tackled him.

I like Brumbies "Overall View" and I hope, for the sake of an interesting season for all of us, he is right. We will go into the break after round 2 the wiser and hopefully 2 teams haven't emerged from the pack by then.
