“We are looking to finalise our roster in the coming months as we still have couple of positions still up for grabs with a number of promising club players pressing their claims in our extended training squad.”

    Wallabies 2023

It will really depend on how Scotland and Wales go

    Wallabies 2023

Maybe we went there briefly after the loss to the French in the mid year series, but I’m certain we started at 7

Wales v Australia, Sunday 21st 4.30 am ADST.

I just went and had a look at it again. I realised then that I what I was stunned about was that it warranted reversing our penalty advantage. They were both going for the ball. Again, not the only decision I was stunned about.

    Wallabies 2023

Started at 7. 4 or 5 would have been good. Baby steps!

I wondered about that too, it looked like either a non event or a sanction to us, but the 3rd alternative seemed only a remote possibility. I went and made a coffee during the injury break and was stunned when I came back in to find they had got the penalty. I actually rewound to check...

You’re right, but he’s talking about the Welsh knockdown that instead of a penalty against they got a try for.

    Wallabies 2023

My 2 cents worth - I avoid the forum completely if I’m not watching a game live (assuming I don’t want to know the result), but I think it’s reasonable to assume that if I go to a thread titled ‘Wallabies 2022’ after the game is played, but before I’ve watched the replay there is in all...

I’m not his number 1 fan, I defend him when he gets unfairly singled out. Overall he was our most effective back tonight. I agree with the general premise of you post though.

He was dropped, and then reinstated when Mackellar appeared on the scene. That said I don’t have any issue with his initial re-selection because in fairness it was after Koroibete withdrew. i have several issues with his continued selection beyond that though.

Technically you are correct but of the things that could be said about that ‘try’ that one would be pretty low on the list. Even the scorer stopped running. Going through the game reel and trying to find somewhere in the entire game where we could make up the 2 points, calling Beale out for...

He’s more composed and conservative. Not sure if that translates to better. We went shit with both of them, they both need a better team around them to be compared properly.

Aside from Tuquiri none of those blokes are big by any standard. I stood behind Larkham in a queue for the athletics at the 2000 Olympics, tall but very lean. I’ll admit he was a pretty imposing presence though, but I think that’s because of who he was rather than his size.

I think because they have a centralised system the majority stick wth their roots. The movements probably mostly come about if there is inequity in a particular position e.g there are 3 test quality hookers at one franchise and none at any of the other ones ;)

There's also the 'KB (Kurtley Beale)' syndrome, although a bit rarer. I.e. rather than 'give it to the big kid', give it to the bloke who's going to run straight through them and there's no need to teach him any other skills.
  17. KOB1987

Wales v Australia, Sunday 21st 4.30 am ADST.

That's something that can be coached out of /into him though, and TBH a stint at full back would probably do him good. That's the same path Foley took (sans the 7's halfback bit), and Larkham actually. I should point out I'm not saying this should be the combination for next season, or even...

Wales v Australia, Sunday 21st 4.30 am ADST.

Yeah but he's a unit and he's not a 12. Incredibly skilled, definitely not there for either size or defence, as per my post above.
  19. KOB1987

Wales v Australia, Sunday 21st 4.30 am ADST.

I think the key message is that size isn't everything, and not a lot of successful selections have ever been purely because of size. SBW and Kerevi are both big but they have significant other positive attributes, and Nonu was a long term development project, it took them almost a decade before...

Yeah his debut was in the Sydney game. Cheika changed it up for the return Bledisloe next game (mostly in the forwards though), but the SAF & ARG games were after that so I'm just guessing/assuming he played.
