    Reds vs Blues at Ballymore

wj - notwithstanding your blatant fishing, you have made me chuckle not least at the prospect of the Reds signing Carter. I'm almost praying they do now.

    Young Reds

You might want to delete this thread. I'm pretty sure I saw rod Macqueen sniffing around here before. Link created a great culture at the tahs. He will definitely help the reds retain some of these youngsters. Importantly, wherever they play has to give them the best chance to become a...

Lets make our own G&GR Rebels wish list

I don't think AJ Whalley is getting much (any?) game time. James Lakepa on the other hand, playing in the same division, is starting most games. Whoever suggested Rodzilla is having a giraffe.

Lets make our own G&GR Rebels wish list

I'd also be looking at Staniforth. The other big thing will be imports. What about Hernandez or Chabal or someone like that who will bring something to the club for sponsors? They will need that as much as anything.

Your opinions are always given with such certainty and confidence. It must be nice to be right all the time.

    Brumbies Vs Stormers

Mate I think you should leave the jokes to our resident funny man Moses. Giteau is over rated. He's got a step and speed but he's not a natural 10. Witness the EoYT last year. Case closed.

    Coaching

The coaching certifications won't make you a good coach. I've had very good coaches who had only a level 1 certificate (obtained solely for the purpose of coaching that team) and others at level 3 who can tick all the coaching boxes out there but who were hopeless. I'm sure we can all point to...

    George Smith to retire!!!

Are you suggesting Smith threw his toys out of the pram? I don't think that is fair or correct. Perhaps he was just tired.

    Reclaiming the Name of Rugby

If I was rude, I'd say get a life, but I'm not so I'm just going to say that you have too much time on your hands.

    Breaking down the breakdown

Isnt this just a bit more like the way it used be interpreted? In the late nineties/early noughties, if you took the ball into contact and got into trouble you could always go to ground because you would then have time to release it. It will bring back ruck ball which should enhance fast ball.

    Pretorius gone

Scott Daruda is not setting the world alight in France. In fact, he's struggling to start in the French 2nd division. I don't think he is the answer. I'd try to snag a decent Sydney club player. THe Gordon 10 is quite handy isnt he? What about the Uni and Easts 10s? I don't think they are signed...

    Re:Barnes for Vice-Captain?

Welcome to G&GR. Barnes is also a player others seem to follow and respect. Moore is our second best hooker but our best lineout thrower (don't argue, it makes as much sense as "works 60% of the time, all the time"). Deans is the best coach in Australia. George Smith is the greatest...

    George Smith to retire!!!

More gutted at this retirement than of any other recent Wallaby. All time great.

    Waratahs 2010

Hickey should think about winning before he worries about ugly.

Wallaby Open Side Flanker of the Decade

Smith by a country mile. Even comparing his best games to the best games of the others he wins. That he is consistently so good and that he is incredibly resilient make it a no brainer notwithstanding the quality of the others. I've never met Pocock, but Smith and Waugh would be lucky to be 6...

    Quade Cooper Stuffs a Career

I've never kicked down a door. I find it hard to believe Quade thought doing that to a mates front door was ok. rugby whisperer - I said the Oxford English Dictionary.

    Quade Cooper Stuffs a Career

Well said buddy. I don't think I would find "assumptive" in my OED (the authority) but I could be wrong.

    Quade Cooper Stuffs a Career

I agree that we are likely to see more and more of this. Even if he was off his chops, cant remember it and doesnt go to the big house, for punishment, Quade should be paid enough to live relatively comfortably on but no more. The balance of his salary should go towards his education both on...
