    So where to from here?

I still think Deans is our best coaching option. McKenzie should, perhaps, be his assistant with a baton passing ceremony in a couple of years. Phil Blake has done well in his limited time.

    So where to from here?

We have too many forwards not up to it. Elsom, Alexander, Samo, Kepu...These guys have patches of quality and games of mediocrity. Maybe there are reasons for this. I hope Elsom is forced to find form or dropped, I hope Alexander and Kepu are taken straight to scrum school and don't leave until...

    On Reds Cards ................................

Intent requires an analysis of the mind. I don't think we should change the rules, but I think, for a red to be given, the ref, his assistants and the video ref should vote (without communicating their voting intent and, for the on field guys, this would mean hitting a button on their flags). If...

    Well done boys

Barbarian - you think because others choose not to laud the effort of the Wallabies while you cheer it, that makes you a better fan than the rest of us? Please. Sully and Barbarian - the thread title is "Well done boys". That doesn't mean its exclusively for congratulatory messages. It is...

    ONE TEAM - positivity thread

We didn't lose this game or the last (which, whilst I know we won on the scoreboard, reinforced a myriad of problems) in the backs ladies.

    Congrats All Blacks!

Well done ABs. You were far better and deserving of your victory. Good luck next week. Show the world how rugby should be played. I will also be pleased to see your "regular cycle" dominance extended to RWC time. No other team respects each test the way you do. Long may it continue.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

As I said on the previous page when I quoted something similar, Watson is way out of line to criticise a fellow ref in public.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

He may have been dreadful, but referees shouldn't be publicly criticising their own. Watson is out of line. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/international/southafrica/8820911/Rugby-World-Cup-2011-referee-Bryce-Lawrence-may-quit-following-South-Africa-and-Australia-quarter-final.html

Say It Ain't So!!! McCaw may be GONE...

If he's out, I'm gutted for him, the ABs and the Wallabies. I'll still be cheering the Wallabies of course, but it won't be the same to beat them in a World Cup semi if he's not playing. A trinations game or HK Bledisloe, I wouldn't be so fussed about, but the semi final of a World Cup I want...

Who is going to win the cup

Basic comprehension lesson: What is the difference between these two statements: The Wallabies will win it because every time we've had a black no.8 and no.9 we've won. AND The Wallabies will win it because every time we've won we've had a black no.8 and no.9.

Who is going to win the cup

I understood the rules. The Wallabies will win it because every time we've had a black no.8 and no.9 we've won. Note to Robbie: don't drop Samo or Genia.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Samo should know better than to be dewscenting in a quarter final. Deans must have torn strips off him.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Irrespective of whether it influences his performance, it is inconsistent with the traditions of rugby and of the sporting rivalries between Oz and NZ. This is as embarrassing to NZ as "Hadlee's a wanker" was to Australia. We can be fierce rivals but still respectful of each other.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

I've not seen anyone deny their defence was superb. It would be foolish though, to ignore the other failings in their game when they've still got two victories to achieve before they can lay down arms.

    Congrats Aussies!

PB and Mank (and Blue) and other Bok supporters, thanks for your class. I only hope, win, lose or draw over the next couple of weeks, Wallaby supporters can be equally gracious.

    The Wallaby gameplan

Did the game plan really involve: 1. kicking away all ball; 2. losing the lineout; 3. dropping it in contact; 4. relying on the ref to not penalise us; 5. relying almost exclusively on our defence and, in particular, Pocock? I think you're deranged if you think that was the case. Cooper and...

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

I didn't say they did. I said the Wallabies didn't deserve to win. In any game against top class opposition, living in your own half, failing to win your own lineout ball and kicking badly almost all game should be a death warrant. I don't think you can argue that is untrue. I'm pretty sure...

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Commiserations Boks and Bok fans. I thought the Boks played well. There were some warriors out there for them; Burger, Matfield, Bismarck, JdV, FdP. The Wallabies did not deserve to win that game. Yes, their defence was courageous. However, two reasons it needed to be were because Cooper and...

G&GR Wallaby Player of the Year v Boks (RWC QF)

Sometimes the difference in points is completely inadequate to measure the difference in performance. Pocock was outstanding. 3. Pocock 2. Moore 1. O'Connor
