Even at club level (Vikings) his size v general contact and defensive abilities has always seemed deficient. He has shown promise and I still hope he can actually show it consistently but it has not come yet.

I like him as an option at 15. Watching him in the NRC at 15 he didn't look out of place.

^^^Butler is Ok but is not really a 7 and IMHO, you would get better breakdown pressure from Fardy or Smiler at 7. I would still like to see Alcock given a good crack at 7 as the options at 5/6/8 provide a good base but lack that point of difference a real 7 brings. Based on what I have see...

Um, no - its not a great story, rather stupid IMHO. Give it the simple pub test: How long would he survive - no really - and what would he bring? And why would you waste money on Walker at the expense of the opportunity for new talent? Sadly the reality is many do not take it with a grain...

On a serious note though, It does beg the question about the clubs mindset and culture. In a time when they need to be frugal with their spending and and be looking to get some ROI, should they really be even entertaining the though of a training contract for a past player? I think Brumbies...
