But Super Rugby was never designed or intended to be what you are explaining above. What you are describing is a standalone domestic product that other countries in SANZAAR already have. There are two different product being diluted in to a single argument for convenience and its what many are saying...

Good addition and hope his experience will serve us well. http://www.canberratimes.com.au/rugby-union/brumbies/act-brumbies-appoint-former-melbourne-rebels-coach-damien-hill-as-general-manager-20170301-gunz48.html

Yes, I though that initially but the European Super Rugby rights have sold really well, thus the the TV revenue increase. "The agreement was boosted by a large input from Britain's BSkyB for broadcast rights to Super Rugby as well as a stronger US dollar - the currency in which the deals were done."...

So would the revenue, level of competition, market exposure...... Every other key competitor in our domestic market is looking to markets elsewhere to grow revenue as the market domestically is lean, yet you suggest that Rugby should do the opposite? How much cost reduction do you think...

I am still of the belief that NZRU and Co see SA timezone as a portal to the European and Americas markets. Like a TV ad you need to be seen to be relevant and the Kiwi Super Rugby sides provide this. It keeps the ABs "brand" in the minds of other markets and it helps then market the ABs. Look at the...

Ninth minute of the game with what appears to be a forearm or elbow to Firsby's head. I believe its this:

This is what most fans are overlooking! SA provides a gateway to Europe where all the money is atm. That is why the NZRU wants to stick with SA.

Super Rugby 2017: matches not involving Australian teams

The new version of the foreign exchange is up: UN-AUSTRALIAN ACTIVITIES! Give it a click and have a read: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/super-rugby-2017-un-australian-activities/

What metric are you using? We have low ratings via a pay TV deal, little sponsorship and struggle to raise sufficient revenue to support our own teams in our own market. This offsets any commercial benefits our market brings. We also have the tightest most competitive sports market of all the...

Super Rugby 2017: matches not involving Australian teams

Your right its a puts them behind the 8 ball and sad it wasn't sorted sooner but at least with the changing of the Top Leagues dates it wont happen again.

Its an inherent risk in every sport where their are tiers. This is where a governing body that is not a limp democracy need to have some holistic management over the game to prevent the empire building which now is prevalent in rugby.

Similar to another concept I messed about killing time waiting for a flight: ARU / Lealiifano Challenge Cup / Expanded NRC [Stage 1] Teams in each state/ territory would progress though a knockout style competition. This will be run (ARU approved draw design) via each state / territory...

^^^there is definitely room, a place, desire and an appetite for good domestic rugby product right now. With the political scuttlebutt last year, Foxtel is on the record saying they would be interested in more product depending on what it was. So weather that on top of, or a substitute for the...

I totally agree. There is a long list like him littered through all parts of the game. IMHO the majority of the time the key whingers and protagonists in most of these issue are ex-players or ex-ARU administrators all levering off their past as a justification as to their qualification to make...

Pacific teams have no money and limited market to get any financial returns. So even if World Rugby pays the bills for a pacific team (the ARU and SANZAAR cant afford it) it only increases the financial burden that is the key issue.
