    Refereeing decisions

This is an IRB directive, once the player is lifted past the horizontal, the referee must start at Yellow.

I thought this one had been put to bed already!

    2013 S15 Referees

The formatting "automatically" makes the D in Damien into a smily face. Yes, I know I'm easily amused. :D

    Refereeing decisions

I've spoken to some Rugby League Referees here who use two way comms for new referees as an in game coaching tool. Personally, I think this would be a major distraction but can see the merit of being able to talk to a new referee during breaks in play. Not sure that there would be much value...

    Referee Comms Systems

Continuing with the recent trend of Referee specific articles on GAGR recently, here's on for the referees who post on this sensational forum. What referee comms system have you used? What are the benefits of it? What system do you use regularly? How do you find using comms? Do you have any...

    Refereeing decisions

This is true at community rugby level, but at Premier Rugby and above all the AR's and Referee's should be using full comms (usually open mic) which is sensational to use as a referee or AR/TJ.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2013

Tumut had their 30th Anniversary celebrations in Tumut on Saturday. The majority of the club were involved in setting that up. My mail says they had approx 220 people in attendance with Owen Finegan a real highlight as guest speaker.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2013

Things have been fairly quiet for the last few months in SIRU as clubs begin preparing for the season, but things are starting to heat up in the zone with the Cootamundra 10's played yesterday at Country Club Oval. 10 Teams were in attendance as follows: Griffith Blacks x2, Cootamundra...

Waratahs vs Cheetahs Super Rugby-R5 2013

The Tahs had it to win with 20mins to go. I thought they played pretty well and have some fundamentals to work on. They could have won that game though. Folau's positioning early on at fullback cost them, as did Lopeti Timani's efforts at #8. Two key instances that cost them.

    Interpretation of Rules

The ref can damn whatever rules he likes as long as he referees the laws. . . boom-tish?? I'm in two minds on this one. It's been floating around since 2007 and I haven't seen a definitive answer yet from anyone. Apologies for linking to another website, but this is a large topic that even...

    Refereeing decisions

It's a good website, possibly something that GAGR might be able to emulate? Andrew Lees, George Ayoub, Steve Walsh would be good points to start. Maybe not a weekly question segment, but something where the referee's look at a particular trend in the game and explain the thought process behind...

    Refereeing decisions

I think you'll find that the majority of referees want as much relevant chat from the AR's as possible. The referee wants to know about anything they may have missed and the purpose of having the comms gear is to communicate with each other. From my experience, if the AR calls something and...

    Refereeing decisions

It's not always possible for them to attend, and the tyranny of distance restricts some from even being available. Some local referees do attend club sessions during the season, usually before a big game or after they have been pulled up on a particular point of law in a particular game.

    Refereeing decisions

I think this is a good idea, there have been some good forum posts in recent weeks looking at the laws and why certain decisions have been made.

    Refereeing decisions

Scott Allen I guess the intention behind trying to educate coaches and players extends from my own experiences at a regional level here where a lot of coaches and players may not have the time or inclination to learn the laws or study trends in the game in the same way that a premier level coach...
