Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

Why would a player register with a club and put themselves behind other players depriving themselves of an opportunity instead of signing with another club? IIRC there was reports in the CBR times about players who did sign with other clubs deliberately to give themselves the chance. We have...

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

It all a matter of prospective, Vikings only have a finite amount of spots for players to showcase any talent that is worthy of higher honourers, So the other JiD teams can provide opportunities for players to try to impress. It unlikely that the Vikings NRC or Brumbies will shun talent just...

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

Brumbies will retain significant involvement and try to spread the benefits to the JiD. The Brumbies will still commit Super Rugby contracted players to the program as well as helping oversee strength and conditioning for the squad. Brumbies high performance manager Damien Hill will be a...

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

This wont upset anybody will it? The Vikings will take all responsibility for the NRC side, taking the financial responsibilities away from the Brumbies and starting fresh for the 2017 season. But the licence will be transferred to the Vikings Group for financial stability and the Vikings...

Brumbies v Lions, 7:45pm Fri May 12 - GIO Stadium

I was wondering how JJH@10 and Hawera @ 12 would go. Toua lacks the skills and is just to erratic, especially with his decision making, I still think wing for him.

Brumbies v Lions, 7:45pm Fri May 12 - GIO Stadium

Which makes me wonder what does it take to get the 3x Wallabies at 12 & 13 & 14 in to the game? Admittedly having a @15 that passes to the opposition doesn't help, but surly someone else can step up?

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The grass roots junior comments are just logical well known stuff that's been talked about aplenty but misses the key issue; how to fund it. If we had more funds we would already being doing more than he is suggesting. As for his comments about defence and the NRC, the evidence certainly...

Brumbies v Lions, 7:45pm Fri May 12 - GIO Stadium

I thought was was playing a lot closer to the line (at the line) when he first arrived (pre-season games) and then in the first few rounds but has dropped deeper as has the whole line. IIRC correctly it was one of the attributes Larkham lauded when they decided to signed him.

Brumbies v Lions, 7:45pm Fri May 12 - GIO Stadium

I apologise it I have contributed to the way you feel, but some of the comments from supporters emanate from frustration and disappointment that a bunch of good players are being let down by a few; and some of those maybe should have moved on for the befit of the team. Most who make comments...

Brumbies v Lions, 7:45pm Fri May 12 - GIO Stadium

It really hard to be anything when you have a 12 that provides nothing, is past it and should never have been recruited, a 13 that has become such a one dimensional one trick pony that his predictably is ridiculous (but that stem from the way he is used), a 15 that should never be on a Super Rugby field...

    Oz Super Rugby Coaches

If it helps any - (From Brumbies 2018 thread) IIRC correctly Palmer was brought in by the Brumbies (part time role) to assist the UC Vikings as scrum coach and continued on from there.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Tew has got 18 months to play it cool then watch him sweat - and what we and SA do will determine the fate of the Kiwis. The travelling side show the All Blacks have become, have been used by the Irish in the US as a quick payday for the AB's but a market in the US for the Irish, the French...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

What part of professional sports is not a business? So Super Rugby franchise are not business? No wonder Cox is pissed. What did he buy, a charity? Even Shute Shield has became a business to sustain itself and some of the clubs. They directly exploit what they have to keep them going. I...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

This is the exact reason why rugby is failing. Netball, soccer, domestic cricket. Ice hockey. Basketball just to name a few have all learned the lessons and cut the sentimental ties and faced reality. Rugby is right now - and it's hard for many to let go if the past amateur ways. But it's...

    Brumbies 2018

But this is not new nor anything beyond many other business and organisation face. there is always someone with more money. In Rugbys case it is France and then Europe. That's just the reality. But not everyone wants to go O/S and most that do go are seeking opportunity as there is nothing...
