    Brumbies 2012

I'm not South African, but the Stormers defence has been rather good recently. Whether or not that is the doing of Mr Wessels is another question.

    Rebels 2012

Campbell was pretty decent last year. O'Neil has retired. Going by all reports regarding James King, his recent recruitment to the Rebels may prove to address some of the problems. One of the articles I was reading about him described him as "Isaac Ross but with grunt." At 24-25, he is still...

    2011 Spring Tour

I'm fairly sure in his mind he'd rather be starting at THP and developing there than riding the pine behind fatcat and hoping for a game.

    Waratahs 2012

They're invariably off doing important things like developing a unified theory of relativity or winning scrums. They let other people who don't have such meaningful things in their life have the small consolation of being captain.

    2011 Spring Tour

    Who'd be the uncapped?
  6. James Buchanan

    Waratahs 2012

Something that rings in my ears re: scrums is an old coach saying that the majority of the power comes from the second row.

    2011 Spring Tour

That certainly is an amusing way of expressing it. The general sentiment of developing more passing oriented 5/8th is why I would not be adverse to seeing Matt To'omua get another go on the EoYT, even if he has been out of the spotlight recently. He offers something different at 10 to a JOC (James O'Connor)...

What to look for in a No 10

We did, they were just all on contract (mostly at the Brumbies).

What to look for in a No 10

I won't disagree that there are contradictions. I did note that it is a complicated topic. For all that Quade does have magic feet, he also has a sublime long pass. I'm pretty sure that its for his passing that he gravitated towards 5/8th. So, I do not agree with your assertion that he is trying...

What to look for in a No 10

I think its more complicated than people are making out. I mean, Quade is like Carlos Spencer. Bloody good 5/8th and an excitement machine, but flaky... which is not desirable in a test 5/8th. I agree that a good 5/8th should be a distributor, rather than stepper. That being said, a good 5/8th...

    GAGR Meetup (Melbourne)

Should probably clarify which one. There's probably half a dozen of them in Melbourne.

    GAGR Meetup (Melbourne)

I prefer other establishments generally; turf bar does not have a great range of beers on tap. I'll probably be heading to the Great Northern in Carlton North.

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

At least someone has grasped what I assume is Robbie's intention.

Russia to Bid for 2023 World Cup

And in Central/Eastern Europe generally. The excitement it would develop amongst countries other than Georgia and Romania (well, in addition to those) would be immense. Of course, at the same time... hosting it in the Americas somewhere would also be amazing.

Who is going to win the cup

... just like every other World Cup. (To bring this in line with the rules)

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

The latter appears to be the equivalent of our BoM, so I am inclined to go with their assessment, absent any other factors.

    RWC 2011 SF1 - Wales v France

SMH has provided some info on the Priestland situation: http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/priestland-out-of-wales-semifinals-team-20111013-1lmie.html

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

I call BS. I still remember the feeling from when Mortlock missed it. Could have been because I was sitting amongst a throng of Englishmen at that point though.

Cooper - Good or Great rugby player - discuss.

Bernie rates for mine. It is a shame that more forwards names don't rise to the top also. I suspect they've been there, just less noticeable.
