    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Using the roundball rights agreement as the target shows sense.

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

True. But then again his oppo - other Oz Soup sides aside - was a bit less Kiwi and Saffer than at the start of the season.

Australian Rugby Union (ARU) - Positivity Thread

And on a semi-related - and positive - note: ARU is to be commended for the absence of enraging and infantile ground announcers at Suncorp. The presence of such materially detracts from my enjoyment of Reds' games at the same ground.

    Reds 2014

Was this the only game of his you ever watched? Because you could as easily have said, think try-saving tackles against the Bull and the Stormers, 2010.

Where to for quality Rugby journalism???

Interviewed, with a quite detailed re-imagining of what he said I would suspect. I trust the veracity of nothing that even hints of having JON's fingerprints on it. The last time he did something that was not entirely self-serving was before he had Hair Down There.

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

When he first swapped codes, Thorn was first and foremost interested in knowing if he had it in him to play for the All Blacks. Playing for the Reds would have been (to exercise considerable understatement) a step in the wrong direction. When he went back the second time, it was 'cause the...

    Reds vs Bulls - Rd6

I can't recall anyone nodding off or doing a crossword near where I was sitting. A goodly amount of shrieking, groaning and Bad Attitude towards James Leckie was more the order of the day (or night). Yes there were mistakes by both sides and the fella with the whistle plus one blind...

Where to for quality Rugby journalism???

Full marks for good judgement. And a bonus point for admitting that which may have been annoying to admit. With Mr Ryan, one gets reasoned analysis from someone with broad and deep knowledge of the matter at hand. This combination is sadly too rare in Oz winter sports.

    Reds 2013

Dear God! Kiddies, do not try this at etc... In any case, I hope Mr Daley hurries back. He may not be a grand scrummager (somewhat of an understatement) but he's a genyooine wild animal at the breakdown. And he carts the ball forward very effectively.

    Reds 2013

I wondered about that when I first saw the new, shaggier version of E. Quirk in Toowoomba. I have come to accept that his former, more cropped look was merely a point of differentiation from Higgers; un-needed now SH has gorn souf.

    Reds 2013

AWH had a cracker of a game. The thieving and general disrupting in the lineout was excellent.

    Barnes off to Japan

That's where he picked up the habit. Why he continued it in a Wobs jumper may be as per JJJ's suggestion...

    Lions Tour 2013

I hope it will indeed be packed. It certainly should be. Platinum seating is only $65 cf. $235 for Gold at Wobs v Lions (I was waaaay too slow out of the blocks to snare Platinum), so there must be many who missed out entirely on the latter. Re organising seats: Reds members have an 8 ticket...

The TV Broadcasting of Australian Rugby

Yes - it was was pleasing to see a goodly number of kiddies at the game. It's a fine venue for smaller kids: i.e not a painful to get out of as Suncorp.

Rebels vs Crusaders Rnd 12 Super Rugby 2012

My thinking was based on (amongst other things) it being unlikely O'Connor would be ready for at least the first international, and maybe more.

Rebels vs Crusaders Rnd 12 Super Rugby 2012

Perhaps. But I was mainly wondering who the 15 would be.

Reds vs Chiefs -Suncorp Stadium 13 May

I agree. Despite being a Reds and not 'tahs supporter, have to say that Turner is easily a superior player to Davies. What stops Turner from being a good to v. good international winger is his inability to beat a man consistently. He doesn't seem to have the tools; be it fend, body-swerve...
