Folau was much better at 15 but that was where we needed him and he did not have the history in the game that Sua'ali'i has. Lenny is also an option to move to 12. That is a long way off from now. As it stands the centre partnerships we have had over the past few years have lacked size and...

    Wallabies 2024

Yeah, well there is that. He is a big strong bloke who is dominant in League and played rugby for most of his life. Cheika thinks he will be very good and we are struggling in the midfield. Our best right now ain’t getting it done. I’d guess 13 or 15 will be his gig eventually, like Folau.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I’m surprised that Lonergan is not in the mix. He has a good combo with Noah and I would put him ahead of White and at least on par with Gordon prior to the test season. Hopefully he makers the EOYT.

Kailea should come onto the bench in the next test. I would have thought that Nonggorr would have been in the squad to get some time off the bench. Problem we have with TT is the bench guy needs to be ready to play 70 mins. I would take Canham over Blyth every day of the week. It’s unlikely he...

    Wallabies 2024

Most test props will play a half and a bit these days. Look at SA. They split the time between starters and the bomb squad front row. You would expect our props to play through the first half and then go for another 10-15 in the second after a break if required. With most opposition we should be...

12 - Kerevi. 13 - Sua'ali'i Otherwise Lenny at 12 could work. Paisami as well.

Jorgo will not get a run at 10 with the Tahs. They have Edmed, Bowen and Lawson Creighton. I reckon LC is the best of the 3. I would start Toole next week and let Jorgo come off the bench, or have a rest. Wright and McReight to slot straight back in. Kailea on to the bench.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Most of them are fit. Bell is a couple of games back and needs to be managed. TT is not fit enough…no doubt. We really missed LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) to continue the physicality but our defence was horrible. We need a new defence coach and modern system.

Should Aus/NZ Test Sides Pick Overseas Players?

Sam Carter is at The Force. Scott Sio, Tom Staniforth, Irae Simone, Matt Philip and there are others. They don’t need superstars but depth and some more experience. Anyway, it will be interesting to see what happens on the EOYT and beyond. We need a competitive squad for the BILs and I suspect...

    Wallabies 2024

So what are the powers that be going to do about it? What steps are being taken to strengthen our pathways. What exactly are RA planning to do in the face of a crumbling Super Rugby and now SA and NZ deleting the 26, 28 and 30 RC games? They need to be seen to be taking action reasonably quickly. They...

Should Aus/NZ Test Sides Pick Overseas Players?

We lack experience in our 23. Argentina had almost double the caps we had on the weekend and most of ours are with Slips, who probably should not be there. Experience throughout the squad represents success at test and RWC level, pure and simple. Super Rugby is a shot bird and we now have 20%...

    Wallabies 2024

Maybe Staniforth in the second row ahead of the Arnolds would be a good pick. Gill and McMahon likely past it now. Last time McMahon came back he was not worth a spot in the 23. Kerevi is 30 and still has some running in his legs if fit. MK has been disappointing this year. It might have been...

    Australian Rugby / RA

There is no point in trying to find logic in any of that. It is RA after all. Those players allowed to slip away while there is another ridiculous deal on the table for a league player. No top up for Liam Wright? He must have been torn when asked to captain the Wallabies. Nucifora walks again to...

He is a 6. McReight is pretty close and has an excellent attacking game to boot. Ardie Savea is Pocockesque.

    Australian Rugby / RA

If we are going to bring over league players now then targeting superstars like Suuali for millions of dollars is ridiculous, not to mention that we cannot afford it. We need some beefy centres that can defend all day and break tackles before offloading. They are a dime a dozen in league. Pull a...

    Australian Rugby / RA

The Saffas have an endless stream of young players coming up through the ranks. If you think they will all of a sudden drop down the rankings when the older players in this team start to retire, think again. Already they are starting younger players at 9, 10 and 15 ahead of their well...

Daugunus try against Wales? It was a chip kick from Kellaway. Agree that its not advisable against top teams these days.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Big problem. Coach tells TT to let him know when he is ready to be pulled……30 mins…WTF? Yes it was warm and the game was fast paced, but Jesus, a pro player wanting to represent Australia should play through the first half and then empty the tank for 15-20min in the second after a break. If the...

    Wallabies 2024

We just canned the Rebels which should strengthen the other Super Rugby sides. It’s going to take time. There is no instant fix. There are some good young players coming through the system who will eventually come good at test level. Consistency should be the goal, for the Wallabies and the Super Rugby sides.
