So can I clarify - you're saying if you personally witness foul play you are not permitted to mention it in any way on this thread? Is that correct?

Brumbie Jack nothing happened because the officials didn't see it. The scuffle was probably 20m away from the main play. From where the Waverley spectators were sitting, it was to the left, and harder to notice - out of the line of vision. Same for the touchies. From the stand where Trinity...

I did NOT use the word thuggery. It's easy to check - go back and do it. Don't rewrite history. Just go on defending foul play. How would you feel if the Trinity boy did it to a Waverley boy? All fair, just heat of the battle, right? You're digging yourself a bigger hole with every post.

There is no name calling, not by me. I am simply describing what I saw. Aren't we allowed to do that? The heat of battle doesn't excuse it. Don't you realise that? He went too far. He may or may cop a suspension, but it is more important that he learns his lesson - that he cannot lose his...

Ridiculously exaggerated? I saw it. If anything, I've downplayed it. I really do shake my head. You're saying the headbutt was ok because the guy doing it was smaller? Is that your logic? Good luck running that argument with the judiciary. And again, you're defending a headbutt and...

Lopsided? Apologies, I must have missed that rule that says it's ok to headbutt someone if there's been some niggle. And by the way every opposition forward will be bigger than that Waverley half. Hopefully his other friends will pull him up for it, rather than excusing it. You just can't...

That Waverley half might be missing for a few games. Clear head butt in a midfield scuffle with Rasch. Hard to believe all 3 match officials missed it, but it might have been caight on tape. I don't know if there is a retrospective judiciary. Also hard to believe a player could lose his...

Thanks sidesteppa Impressed by the Knox 5, one or both props and the speed on the hooker. Knox 14 was all at sea under the high ball and the scrum half struggled. Fly-half was ok. Tom Cameron must be in the CAS team. Cranbrook half had a much better pass. Cranbrook looked positively...

    CAS U16s 2016

Trinity came 5th due to an ordinary pack that gave their backs little ball, and a lack of depth. At full strength they were competitive with the top teams. You don't decide how many individuals should be in based on how the team finished. Having said that, there are only two I would have in...

The Trinity 9 in the 1sts is also 16s. Played flanker last year. The Trinity centre is good but I don't think would oust Towns or Cameron. Good for the bench. The Trinity 15 from last year is doing athletics for winter, as is their other centre.

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

"I've been around swimming and water polo for a while and I know that both Knox and Trinity actively recruit and scholarship". I've heard a rumour that Barker - who have won the CAS Athletics for 4 years - just recruited a 16s middle distance runner - from Kenya. Now that is taking...

Yeah BHD is still very quick and a very good player. He came 5th at Nationals in the 100 recently. But he doesn't dominate on size and speed like he used to. He is learning to refine his game and add more strings to his bow.

    CAS U16s 2016

Sorry no - BHD is playing rugby this year. Trinity have another 16s player who is marginally faster, a bit smaller, and from what I am told a better all round player. But he's not playing rugby this year.

    CAS U16s 2016

I'm not sure what your point is. I never said CAS had a better team, or a better backline. Speed out wide isn't a lot use if your forwards don't win you decent ball, and your inside backs don't run straight and create space. My point was - and remains - that if both Trinity boys were playing...

True it's not everything. But it helps. Half chances turn into tries.

    CAS U16s 2016

Trinity's 16s are a lot weaker than last year though. They have lost two to 1sts and two to specialist athletics, plus one more played 16s last year and could repeat - but is playing 1sts. I think Trinity will struggle against Cranbrook this year - the Cranbrook boys, who have never won a...

    CAS Rugby 2016

Trinity halves are both 16s and the 9 was playing mainly openside in the 15s last year. They are on an improvement curve but both are good players and will learn quickly.

    CAS Rugby 2016

Trinity have struggled with cohesive backline in the 1sts and many age groups for a while. Also, their halves are both 16s. Both very good players, but might take them a while to step up. Playing 10 in the 1sts is a lot different to the 15s. Also, Payne will come back in the next few weeks...

Trinity 7 is Stead? Year 11 boy, has played Randwick reps since he was little. Fast, tough and knows his way around the field.

You guys do realise don't you that this Cranbrook 16As team hasn't won for three years and lost most games 50 or 60 nil last year. Knox should expect to really dominate them.
