    The hidden Truth .

Gladiator, relax. A lot of the old codgers on this forum refer their anger towards their own kids to Gits. You know... get a real haircut....after all the money we've given you....get that sourpuss look off your face....what planet are you from...blah blah blah.... Ignore them and stay...

    Rebels vs Sharks - 2011R04

Great game. Superb tries from Vuna and Cipriani. I think the Rebels would be better off with Mortlock as inside and Huxley as outside centre. The refs are o.k. We just need two or more per game as there is twice as much going on at twice the speed than there was before the advent...

    Australian Rugby Team's Biggest Liability

I think the breakdown. There is about 150 rucks in a game. Some rattle on endlessly about one tighthead or a handful of backpeddling scrums and completely ignore the fact we have lost the rucks by a margin of forty as was the case with the last Waratahs game. We also don't have a dominant...

    rugby boys playing Toyota Cup

It is ridiculous to call some of these kids 'rugby boys'. They are league boys who also played a bit of union. It irks me that there are kids on this list who were contracted to NRL clubs while taking positions in schoolboy rugby rep teams at the expense of kids who were solely dedicated to...

    Waratahs vs Crusaders - 2011R03

While on this topic. I was surprised that there was no action by the ref on the crusaders cleaning out of rucks. Often their 120kg props would sprint 10 metres and shoulder charge the unsuspecting loosies in the ribs. If they missed the ruck they would attack whoever was standing behind the ruck...

    Waratahs vs Crusaders - 2011R03

The rucks won is an interesting stat. Crusaders 108 and Waratahs 70. That's a huge difference but I'm not sure I know what is going on. I just get the feeling that while we play by the rules, the NZ forwards cheat in such a frenetic manner and in such numbers that the ref has no idea what is...

    Waratahs vs Crusaders - 2011R03

We could have had 30 players on the field and still lost. They were terrific in both attack and particularly defence. Their fitness level was far superior to ours and they just kept coming. Too much pressure to play our game. The ref also allowed them to play offside all game and in the...

    Sydney Colts 2011

Sam Talakai is an interesting footballer. He is a good strong prop, but he also has terrific ball playing skills. At Waverley and CAS he was often played at pivot or inside centre and would invariably set up a try with a deft short pass or a grubber or Thurstonesque dummy. However, I have...

    Rebels vs. Waratahs - 2011R01

Waugh and his forwards set a great platform for the backs. When the Waratah backs kept the ball in hand they totally outclassed and outpaced the Rebel backs. A lot of the Rebel's problems stemmed from Vuna's positional play in attack and particularly in defence. He was terrible. In contrast...

    Gits signs with Toulon

Sorry to see him go. I think the point everyone is missing is that his knowledge and experience won't be passed down to the next generation.

    The defence of Matt Giteau

I thought that Genia's terrific long pass allowed Cooper to run at AB inside centre so the poor winger had 13, 15 and 14 to shut down. Good dummy inside run from O'Connor kept the defence flat-footed and the cover defense of the AB tight five very impressive.

    Waratahs 2011

Carter is good at getting over the advantage line, committing his opposing centre and taking 2 or 3 cover defenders, while being strong enough to present the ball for the next phase. He is good outside Barnes and I think he would be better outside Cooper.

    NTS/Gold Squads

For Colts apparently there is a point system. Something like 8 pts for Oz schoolboys, 5 pts for NSW schoolboys, 3pts GPS etc, with a max of 50 points. Anyone know more about this? I heard that the maximum will reduce to 40 to spread the talent more.

    NTS/Gold Squads

Why is everyone so critcal of a program that supports 300 athletes? Firstly the scholarship system is too obscure and discretioary. Get rid of the current mob and find someone who can produce a list of scholarships that you actually apply for, get offered, accept and then get your picture...

    NTS/Gold Squads

Sydney Uni should be praised for their support of rugby and helping athletes get a degree. Surely other clubs should be affiliating their colts with other unis as Randwick is doing with UNSW. Why can't we have a U.S. style inter university colts' competition that would have teams such as...

    Giteau Spitting Dummy again???

I would like to add that Matt Giteau won the prestegious John Eales medal as the Wallabies' most outstanding player in October 2009. So please don't use the argument that his decline has been a long term thing.

    Giteau Spitting Dummy again???

Sorry but I would like to stick up for Giteau. Giteau's game is built on speed, and he has scored many incisive tries that demonstrated his unique precocious skills. So what has happened? Firstly, Quade Cooper is an inside centre's nightmare. Typically on receiving the ball Cooper will...

    Greg Inglis?

GI is the best league has to offer. He is the most talented ball runner in Australia. I think he would be a tremendous asset for the Rebels. He is a hero down there and football wise, there was never a question about his motivation. GI vs SBW at the RWC Final. Gallop would neck himself.

    Wallabies 9-15 20-22

    9. Genia 10. Beale 11. JO'C 12. Carter 13. Inman 14. Ioane 15. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) Cooper is majic but not just yet. Beale with his recent extra speed could be devastating at 10. Bruce is right about Carter being the only genuine modern day 12, sadly. I like this lineup because 9, 10, and 12 will...
