The U17 cohort ... where were Gordon this year? Appear to have been successful in the past, yet i don't believe they have a team this year?

Are Joeys real strong at the moment across all age groups? Seems unusual for SIC to only win two games all day!!!

1sts Pats beat Gregs 36-26 - entertaining game. Pats backs played very well. 2nds Pats beat Gregs - can't remember score. 16As Gregs towelled up Pats. 15As ??? 14As Gregs beat Pats 13As ???

St Pats could have a couple of candidates for the ISA 'vacant' spots. Douehi at #10 is a possible - deceptively quick, good passing and kicking game, and reads the game well. Caused havoc on many occassions in the 16s last year, and filled in the 1st XV on occassion and didn't look out of place...

Yes - with 16A Pats Undefeated premiers (close game today ... great game against Oakhill), 16B Pats runners up (first lost today to a dominant Oakhill outfit ... congrats to Oakhill 16B premiers) and boys backing up from Opens this year, Pats should have depth in the Opens in 2015.

Agree - one game, or even one season, is not bigger than the game that is rugby! What will the media talk about this week? I just think it's great that New bounced back this week and that Scots had a "not so easy" win. Who knows, this time next year we could be talking about other schools being...

Just wanted to comment on the Auggies #12 from yesterday's 1st XV - I think his name is Luke Lough(?). What a talented player. He scored Auggies first try and quite frankly a stronger running centre i haven't seen at this level for a long time. I think he represented ISA this year - has he had...

St Gregs play Rugby League in the MCS - a Thursday comp I thought? They are the only school i know who play in two sporting competitions (ISA and MCS) which makes it terribly hard on the boys and the parents in that they need to make a choice. Most boys would probably like to do both but there...

St Pats 17 v Kings 3rds Nil. A lot of younger U16s given a run to blood them for the years ahead.

Further to this, I'd like to think the Joeys hierarchy address the behaviour of the students (reminder that they are students first and rugby players some way after that) - I always thought Joeys prided themselves on disciplined rugby no matter what grade or age. By the sounds of it Joeys are...

Being Tuesday, I'm looking forward to this weeks games. I understand Pius are heading over the mountains to Orange. Should be good games across all ages. KWS are strong in the 1st XV - I'm predicting KWS by 12. Pius by 5 in 16As; they'll be all the better and stronger from last weeks game. One...

100% correct S'UP. Continual 'slow ball' at the ruck caused by defenders not rolling away fast enough, not releasing and the like ruins the game be it Super Rugby, Shute Shield, 1st XV or the 14Ds. The ref has a duty to provide the attacking team with time and space to play running rugby. It's...

ISA 1st XV (and 2nd XV) fixtures in Sydney are appointed by the NSW Refs. They are normally Level 2 refs with experience and knowledge. But it's a tough gig no matter what game they do. They usually do a pretty good job. Most ISA 1st XV refs have had similar experience to what you have researched.

Excellent report from Cyclops, but you did forget one thing ... geesh it was cold!!! The red card (two yellows in reality) was unfortunate for the Pius player. I wonder what the result would have been with 15 on 15? Key injuries to Pats players is a concern ... #9 was out on the weekend and #10...

Pretty even talent on both sides - Carbo and Denford impressed for St Pats; Roebuck (good hands) and Burns (ran good lines) impressed for Stannies. Discipline let Stannies down. The ref blew the whistle a fair bit, but he can only ref what he sees before him.

The 16s at St Pats is the probably the most talented age group at the college - skill, size and depth. They were the only age group to give Joeys a run for their money in the As and Bs last week. So far this year they have been without their best forward (promoted to 1st XV) and best back...
