I don't understand how NZ and SA won't gain anything in the new format. Less travel, more chances to pit contenders vying for Test spots against each other, probably more ca-ching too. That said, I'm all ears to the counter arguments as to why this will harm NZ and SA rugby. Hit me.

I would think most foreign players would want to stay loyal to their clubs and stay under the noses of their respective national coaches in the lead up to the RWC. I don't know how many times it has to be said, but I think everyone agrees that the Victorian side would have done a lot better...

Yeah, absolutley Hornet. This is a similar issue to the thread about player burnout; I think next year we'll probably see a lot less Test players spending time in club rugby. But at the same time we may see more Super Rugby players in club rugby with the addition of the Rebels.
