JO'C may have been a complete jerk but I'll give him this. At the end of the 2013 season, before that amazing Highlanders game, Platinum members were invited to come and watch the final Captain's Run of the year. Even though by then it was known that his contract wouldn't be renewed, he did the...

If this happens, I will also stop watching Super Rugby and probably start going to a few local games. I'll also cancel my Foxtel subscription, the only reason I have it is for watching rugby.

Maybe I misinterpreted that article but it read to me like Coxy is angling to take over the Brumbies. Maybe he just wants to ruffle a few more feathers?

So, we know your price now. You'll do anything for a few beers and a couple of pies :p

I agree with most of that. Getting Inman back has made a huge difference to our midfield defence. On your point about Cummins, the shoulder charge was indeed a brain dead penalty, one lineout penalty was harsh and one was a 50/50. You may be right that he isn't up to it but I think he's...

I liked that the Saffa commentator wanted the penalty reversed :)

URRRRRRRGHHHHHH! That. Was. Horrible. Shorkies did everything possible to not win. Rebels gameplan: If you get the ball in our 22, kick it away If you get the ball in our half, kick it away If you get the ball in their half, kick it away If you get the ball in their 22, N/A Well done...

OTOH, TT may well have thought that since that front row won a scrum penalty last week that they get to start this week.

Perhaps but, TT might be thinking he needs some experienced bench cover with Chibba and Weeks. The other five benchies only have a handful of games between them. Slightly disappointed that Tupai wasn't given first crack before Sinclair. Edit: six benchies #mathsfail

I'll have to correct myself. We were worst in 2015 for lineout success but improved to 13th in 2016. So far this year only the Jags are worse. Second last is a lot better than some of our other 2017 stats though. You can see team stats by year here -...

In the last few seasons we've had Higgers then Thomson as second jumper, mostly with Jones and LT as locks. Result - worst lineout in the competition.

I know, right? We have a lot of good opensides.

I'm guessing that Schatz will start at 6 with one of Tupai, Sinclair or Miller in the backrow and one on the bench. 17 year old, Esei Haangana might get a cap at lock. We're pretty light on this week.

    Rebels 2017

I imagine that Sean will probably play 20 minutes from the bench first game or two back, then maybe start and play 40 the next week. I think the back-row combo we had on the weekend (except the bit where two of them weren't there) was about the best we've had. So what will our best...

The Durban Cell C Sharks host the Melbourne Rebels April 23rd 03:30am at Growthpoint King Park, Durban I think I'll be recording this one.

I think that any one of those three would make a fine captain. My concern with Colby is that he might become a finisher once Sean (and LT) is back. I mentioned, after one of our recent pantsings (Canes I think), when a lot of us were calling for TT's head on a stick that I'd like to see Colby...

Round 8 - Rebels vs Brumbies, Saturday 7:45pm

The funny thing about those card incidents at the ground was, instead of showing the replay of Colby being pinged, the local producers put up a sideline fluff piece with a couple of competition winners. Jackson wouldn't have seen the footage either and must have gone with the TMO recommendation...
