Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

I think the NZ game will carry as much if not more weight in regards golden boot. Seems coach Phillpotts has highlighted the performance of Kennewell and Johnson-Holmes from the Samoa match. "Phillpotts singled out centre Simon Kennewell and prop Harry Johnson-Holmes as two of his best against...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2015

It is a shame that GPS don't play ISA. Strang was great yesterday and a match up between he and Goddard would have be good to see.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2015

I thought it was hard to pick a standout for GPS 1s in the main game. Gittoes for mine was everywhere the whole backline, especially considering the conditions played exceptionally well. Some of the quick ball movement was outstanding for essentially one day together. Disappointment was the...

Rugby Boys playing Jnr Representative League

I think you will find there are current students from both schools who have played SG Ball this year.

thanks sidesteppa. That midfield of Murray and Kennewell was fantastic. Almost takes me back a couple of years to M & M.

    11. Barnes (J) perhaps? I'd imagine Kings would have some representation after beating Scots then Shore

I hope McGregor is back this week. By the sound of LG's report a Wright v McGregor battle could be a great spectacle.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2015

Not a lot seem to still be prominent in Rugby circles from limited knowledge. Obviously Goddard and McGregor played Schoolboys last year. Girdler played GPS 1s. A number are playing league with 3 Butcher, Cogger and Faatui already playing Holden Cup while Simonsson, Fonau played SG Ball.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2015

AICES was never going to be a replacement pathway for Country Schools unfortunately, it isn't that simple. AICES is only an option for boys who are in private schools in country areas that fall outside of ISA. The vast majority would be in state/public schools or Catholic schools and therefore...

Union or League? The pros and cons for school leavers

Interestingly Manly sit atop the table in 20s suffering their first loss on the weekend. Roosters on the other hand after a serious 48-6 loss on the weekend sit one win from the bottom of the table. They have been very inconsistent winning big against cronulla but losing also heavily 53-14...

Union or League? The pros and cons for school leavers

The U16 SOO and U18 SOO games played before main SOO arent schools team. They are selected from the U16 Harold Matthews and U18 SGBall Competitions. Neither of these teams then have further selection that is left to the Schools system, with their championships a week either side of the national...

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2015

Granted. IMO the difficulty is a balance with giving them games without handing them hidings. As QH mentioned the best game, competition wise was generally country schools, without them it makes finding appropriate opponents more difficult.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2015

AICES could be compared to CHS and CCC in its make up. AICES would have about 70 odd schools so not feesible to have inter schools completions like GPS,CAS,ISA spread throughout NSW. For the purpose of Rugby CSSA also folds in with AICES. CSSA is a completely different sport organisation for...

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2015

My understanding is AICES will be back in the fold this year. Given no country team it is the only pathway a number of boys now have.

2015 ARU 7s Age Championships and Commonwealth Youth Games

I believe the first camp is this weekend if anyone has inside information I'd be interested to see how many boys have had to withdraw.
