    Wallabies 2020

Without knowing his season stats I would have T Wright clearly ahead of Speight. The ankle breaker he put on Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) yesterday showed what he brings, the x-factor to break open games with footwork and speed. He has suffered due to McKellar's rotation policy with his wingers only starting 3...

    Waratahs vs Chiefs - Super Rugby R 6 2020, Friday 6 March @ 7.15pm @ Wollongong

I can't see how Moeroa isn't in the team next week. Watching the A game last week his was aggressive in attack and defence throughout the whole game adds something we need in spades

    Wallabies 2020

Hopefully for Australian rugby he does continue this form. Although as you said its tough to sustain, Maddocks had an outstanding start last season but struggled in the second half of the season. I'd back Wright to have the better career moving forward based around the fact that he has express...

    Wallabies 2020

Its still early days, although for mine Kellaway and Wright have been the form wingers. Wright probably has greater versatility, more x-factor and his team winning. But a long way to go, if the Tahs can sort things out Maddocks may also come back into calculations.

    Waratahs 2020

I'd like to see Moeroa transition to 6 or 8. Would give us something we desperately need. Foketi is doing well and it seems a waste to throw Moeroa on just for the final 20 if he can possibly bend the line and provide that impact from the start.

    Wallabies 2020

I'd imagine T Wright somewhere in the mix from 15-12. His pace and footwork provides the x-factor.

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

HB, what defines this 13/14 year old as a "RL player"? Given the young man recently lead Eastwood to the 14s State champs in Orange I could only assume that he is a young man that enjoys both codes, yet you have him slated as a "RL player".

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2017

He actually is only 16 this year. Played Harold matts for manly and that competition is limited to players who do not turn 17. He also made the under 16s NSW origin team.

    CAS Rugby 2017

Herein potentially is the difference between the continued strength in NZ rugby and here. The NZ schools team all had to sign loyalty agreements this year. 2 boys wouldn't sign as they had committed to NRL teams and were subsequently told their services were no longer required after originally...

    CAS Rugby 2017

Barnes was injured also, tore his ACL in a trial match. Given he played NSW 1s in 2015 good chance (although not certain) he would have played in 2016. Tristan will be an interesting one. He is signed to the bunnies and he played the week after Australian Champs at the Oz league champs. I think...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

It seems obvious, for those mentioned and I guess in particular Crichton whom the post originally focussed on, the "pathway" in League has thus far lead him to the NRL. So despite Todd Greenberg's words, he is, like the others mentioned one of the three. I think your assumption that all 3 who...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

IS, while its disappointing to see Crichton, Watson, Milne, Moeroa etc running around in league when all had the potential to have a "pathway" in rugby you can hardly blame their decision. While I don't profess to know what opportunities rugby presented post school for each boy the lure of a...

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2016

Okay, it seems some are putting the cart before the horse. How a "whisper" that both five-eighths are out combined with Bailey Kuenzle being called in all of a sudden becomes gospel and that some are accusing the boys of padding their cv's or denying others of an opportunity to be named is a tad...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

The Australian Schools Championships are during the upcoming holiday break and need to accomodate teams from all over the country.

Are the games at Knox again this year?

Which Clubs are the Class of 2015 going to?

I guess here lies the romantic ideal of playing rugby for its "chance to see the world" or the Pulver Cape Town v Campbelltown analogy verse the idea of a professional career. As I said sheer number of contracts in NRL and the money available at such a young age make for some young rugby players...

Which Clubs are the Class of 2015 going to?

Bad choice of words on my part. With reference to "grade". I meant debut in the professional arena. NRL v Super Rugby.

Which Clubs are the Class of 2015 going to?

I think as you mentioned the sheer number of contracts and potential to be a full time professional is a major part of the appeal. 16 clubs in league with 25 full time contacts is 400 spots. 5 super teams at 30 is 150 spots. Also the ascension to the top is much quicker, there a notable number...

Which Clubs are the Class of 2015 going to?

It would seem though that the pathway to the top is a quick one for those chased heavily by the league clubs. Which at 18 would no doubt be appealing. Moeroa debuted at 18, Crichton played the NRL 9s and NRL trials and it seems if Wright wasn't injured he would have followed a similar path. I...
