Agree with Jets. GPS had plenty of strike power out wide and guys who were able to get over the line, but there was no one there to provide them with control and execution once Tuttle went to Prem Grade. TheBigDog, 4 minutes ago What's Mitch Treleaven doing next year? Unless he gets an...

TheBigDog/Jeeper, just a few questions for you guys: Who's been playing 10 for Jeeps in place of Tuttle? Is Cameron Knox injured as well? How has Jacob Manning played at 15 this season? Thanks boys

I'm assuming that, with the red hair, the winger Traves is the son of Roger, who was a useful rugby player and opened the batting for Queensland in the Sheffield Sheild. Is he in Year 12?

All I know is is that after reading about IS's wine misadventures I felt the obligation to have a 2002 GC with lunch today, not a NZ wine in sight. Malheureusement I was paying, but in this case happily so. If Charlie Smith can compete physically with NZ flankers at his age/weight I'll buy him...

It may be that loaded down with a central otago pinot and some a number of peroni (the plural may be perona) I am more philosophical than usual but- this is the thing about under age rep selection: its based on variable comps in which no one knows what the ground rules are or precisely who the...

Pretty sure that Henry Devine played only 2 years of First XV at Ash, and unlike Brad Wilkin he was only turning 17 last year. I could be wrong, but I can't remember anyone playing 3 years of Firsts at Ash since Dean Patterson in 1980-1982, and the only Under 15 I can ever remember playing...

Given Villa lost 69-0 in 16A, and 49-5 in 15A, to Ashgrove, they'd be looking pretty ordinary if that was their First XV next year.

The big margin this year was not a surprise really. GPS looks strong this year, whereas AIC was not and it's performance was not helped by a few injuries in the forwards and, in my view, pretty poor selection.

Played with the Adidas balls a few times and remember how light they were, wasn't a fan. I could be wrong but I have an idea that the " Wallaby" ball was from the same maker as the Ballymore. My son plays AFL as well as rugby so we have a house full of leather Sherrins, now that's a footy (...

Wrong state I know, but in my day (which would approximate yours IS) a new "Ballymore" footy was a thing of beauty and a dream to kick. With those tan and white panels they looked great when you kicked torpedoes, and in those days that was pretty much every kick. Shit in the wet though... I...

I'd heard that Philip Holding was leaving Ashgrove but I'm not sure why or where he's going. What's David Miles like, and what can we expect him to add to MCA rugby?

Great tape, as I said at the start of the year the kid's all class. It will be interesting to see which of the Qld teams Setu makes after this week's trials. He will no no doubt be up against the hype associated with some of the GPS 15's but I really hope he makes the 1's, he deserves it.

As far as I can work it out, Ashgrove are premiers in every grade except for the First XV. Were there joint premierships in 13A's and 14A's? Depends on what happened with SPC in the 13A's (draw with Ash) and SLC in the 14A's who beat Ash but lost to SPC yesterday.

Interesting that Padua finishes second in the aggregate yet the 15B's s was their only win on the day against Ashgrove.

Does anyone know if William Sankey is the son of Bill Sankey, another good second rower who played for the Ashgrove Firsts in 76/77?

OK, fair response. I wasn't at the game so I can't comment on the Old Boys behavior. However, the boys are going to cop much worse than that at club level, union or league, so whilst not condoning that type of barracking it's a learning experience for them.

You're nothing if not predictable, Royalderry, your anti-Ashgrove bias is showing again. Aren't you a teacher at Padua, formerly of SLC? Regardless, you don't cope well with losing to Ashgrove, as your posts after the 2011 decider and today show. You'd think that after all of the practice...

If Ashgrove has beaten Padua comfortably in every A game yesterday, 13's - 16's, with Ashgrove's 15A and 16A sides undefeated this year, why are Padua's premiership prospects so bright over the next couple of years? How many year 11's in the Padua side this year?

What was the crowd like at Ashgrove yesterday? Did Padua bring a big support crew in anticipation of an historic first win over Ash?

Surely there's a better half than Pilz. I've seen him play twice, including a game for Qld Red 16's in Sydney, both times he was pretty average. Nucifora?
