Agreed. I think the halves will need to step up and make sure they grab some quick ball when available and let it sing.

Liam Racsch (6) and Matthew Stead (7). Both good runs, but Stead's in particular was awesome, beating the Barker 8 and 9 with power and the 15 with speed.

Any predictions for Round 2? Aloys host Cranbrook Knox hosts Barker Trinity hosts Waverley Hard to see Barker improving enough to trouble Knox, but Cranbrook would fancy their chances against Aloys and Trinity will take heart from Aloys half-time score at Death Valley this weekend and know...

As well as the 16As, Trinity also got smashed in the 2nds, losing 31-8, five tries to one. The 1st XV was a different story because Trinity's pack was too big and strong for Barker to manage. 14-6 to Trinity, with all points in the first 25 minutes. A pretty scrappy game, with both sides...

A few young fellas around here, but CAS sides getting a whipping from the GPS teams pre-season isn't anything new. Don't read too much into the trial form. The comp starts next week and if we know anything about schoolboy rugby, it's that a week is a very long time!

Always interesting to get perspective from an unbiased viewpoint. Certainly all the boys you've named have regularly featured in match reports in recent years and, barring injury, I'd expect they'll feature strongly again in 2016.

Interesting comments. Speed in the outside backs never hurts in rugby. Aloys have been plucky the last few years, so best of luck to them! Post edited by mod to remove reference to inappropriate comments from previous post (which the OP has now deleted).

Agree that Longville will likely play 10. Trinity will need him with hands on the ball regularly to have a chance. Depth will be the problem again, but the lack of depth from previous years mean they have a team with a fair amount of 1st XV experience. I think depth will likely mean TGS will...

Looks like a strong side. Plenty of size up front, lots of class in the outside backs and Jordan and Fuller will make for a good mid-field.

If these 3 boys are not injured it is hard to see any of them missing CAS 1st XV. I think they were all NSW Under 16s players. Here's hoping they are all looking good to be fit and available for CAS for next year - we'll need them against GPS, who will now doubt be very, very strong again.

Guys We all need to appreciate that there will be some juvenile behaviour at times in these games because the players are all juveniles. I reckon everyone posting here would have done something on the footy field that they're not completely proud of,= even if it was a lonnnnnnng time ago for...

Shame for the boys out injured, some of whom I think were sure things. Warm congratulations to the boys who have been selected though. May they do CAS proud.

For CAS, Wayland (1) was unavailable for selection with a knee injury and Morris (12) appears to have broken his ankle today.

Well put Rod. There wasn't a bad player on the park. McLennan was a powerhouse again. I had Ryan Longville down as man of the match. Clean and efficient at the back, scored a good try from a fair way out and his two sideline conversions were the difference in a 3 try a piece affair (Barker 3...
