Speaking of glamour Joker, how were the Barker girls today? Up to the usual high standard?

Knox well beaten after a promising start. Forwards more than held their own, especially at scrum time. They pushed New’s pack around (including New’s front row “Sumo Wrestling Team”) in many a tussle. Knox backs lacked continuity with many wayward passes slowing momentum. Well played by New -...

Save me a seat B & W - the New vs Knox matches aren't until the 4th May!

Yes, hoping for an injury free day in which both schools test out their team combinations and each other. Knox tends to have one early season advantage over their GPS rivals in that they don’t have any players tied up in “Head of the River” duties or similar.

2019 marks an interesting year in the Rugby cycle for both schools. As Australia’s first Rugby school, Newington played its initial game against a team from Sydney University in 1869 - 150 years ago, followed by its first interschool match against King’s in 1870. Knox students entering Year 7...

Thanks for the info. The blooper about 4th May matches is within the specific article on Gala Day.

Complete stuff up on the Knox website regarding matches for its Gala Day on 4th May. Lists under “Rugby Fixtures Knox 1 Oval” matches vs St Joseph’s at Joey’s, commencing with 6th XV at 10.00am through to 1st XV at 3.15pm. In reality Knox plays Newington at home on that day.

The game was up when the antics of the KSFA were reported in an extensive article in the Sydney Morning Herald. In a strange coincidence King’s Rugby prowess was rather diminished in subsequent years.

Such is the gravitas of this episode of the “Wars of the Roses” that it may even draw Mike Carlton (Barker’s most famous Old Boy) out of hibernation.

Very hard to unhinge Barker - if they're losing on the pitch they always tend to win the handbagging from the sideline by shouting in unison "We've got the girls". This of course spurs their players on with the thought of potential glamorous after match spoils in addition to the Henry Plume...

I’m sure Scott Coleman’s first tactic will be to name a “Fake Team” this evening - like he did for the Knox clash last year

It’s often tricky making comparisons, and the season’s injury toll can start to weigh heavily for the final matches. But given Trinity’s performances against heavyweights Joeys and Barker, they would have to be clear favourites for the Knox match at least. On the other hand, if Knox can get...

I think you will see Trinity defeat Knox and Cranbrook in a few weeks, and may well give Waverley a nasty scare.

I think that the good citizens of Scots, Barker & Trinity make have something to say about making the terror Joker - for this year anyway. Let alone the Scots Mums after dark.
