    Sanix Youth Tournament: Japan

Well..gulp...Australia are sending Brisbane Boys College who finished 4th (or fifth) in their local comp last year. Hopefully they can do better than Edmunds last year but I don't hold out to much hope. I am not sure of how this works politically and financially but it seems that NZ and SA...

Ahh...ahem..that would be the Boston Red Sox, and they won the comp in 2013, 2007, and 2004. But I get your point...you meant Chicago White Sox. Sorry to be pedantic and I don't really like Baseball anyway. I just happen to live in the Boston area where such words would be considered...

    Wallaby Locks

I can see both sides of the argument regarding junior rugby tall locks vs faster backrower/lock types. Back in the day, before lifting, it did not matter so much. A taller gumby could usually at least slap the ball back. IMO experience that taller the player the more uncoordinated they are...

Agreed. You can never not back Nudgee. However, they always seem to always lack a presence on these boards, which may be considered a credit to them. Though I am not sure if it isn't due to fact that they haven't keyed onto the whole "internet thing" yet, or that they are simply so busy in...

Should have had that last year. At the least it would have been one win for us BBC boys and old boys ;) Though GT would be close runners up.

TBH, I am just trying to stir some life into this thread. I have no idea about the new season. As an old boy... I would be happy if BBC make the top 3. Anyone have some tips for 2015?

BBC! 2015 is the year to get it done!

Ok..call me crazy...but I'm gonna pick BBC to pip Churchie and Nudgee to beat TSS

Is Mafi back for NC this week?

    QLD GPS Rugby 2014

I have a feeling that BBC vs ACGS might be closer. The College seems to play up against Churchie and its pretty much the last chance for them to "show what could have been". But if I was a betting man I would still pick them to go down by perhaps 8-12 point. Agree on Ippy but NC vs TSS and GT...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2014

Well at this point I think a three way tie for 1st (TSS, NC, ACGS) is likely. IGS and BSHS to fight for second. GT and TGS next and BBC and BGS filling the last two spots. On a different note, still disappointed that Australian Schoolboy Rugby (or whoever makes these decisions) will once again...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2014

Good post. Admittedly I predicted a blowout, but those country boys, including IGS, have a tendency of really giving it too, on paper better city teams, when least expected. Kudos to TGS and IGS this week. No talk...all action by both teams (at least on this forum:)). I think its a 3 horse race...

Very happy for the college, but the logical side of me thinks that we should be selecting from the bigger and older Sydney GPS Schools if we are looking for a school that will win this.

IGS vs TSS: Tighter than might be expected. But TSS by 9 ACGS vs TGS: Sorry TGS but a whupping is on the cards. ACGS by 30+ BBC vs NC: (As an BBC old boy) I don't know what has gone wrong this year, or if it was perhaps a few too many excited BBC posters that left me feeling confident (I...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2014

I think BBC will struggle this year to get out of the bottom half of the table despite pre-season predictions. Their tight forwards are big yet look sluggish in a competition where speed, accuracy, and aggression in the piggy's seem to be the way to win. Their loose forwards also lacked...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2014

IMO, this is a perfect example of the mess that is NSW Schoolboy rugby. How terribly confusing for supporters when you have 2nds teams playing 4ths, 5ths playing 2nds and so on. Admittedly NSW does produce some of the best Schoolboy Rugby and players, but this is just a baffling system. I am a...

Well, all talk of scholarships aside, I would have loved to have seen this Scots team at the Sanix tournament this year. They would have given it a good shake.

Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament - 2014

I agree about the disadvantages Australian teams face in this great schoolboy rugby tournament. It seems like we rarely send the best we could. Then again, perhaps it is the same situation for other countries.
