    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

For those concerned about the intentions of Nine, I saw a snippet in an article that might help put your mind at ease. It was at the bottom of one of the recent SMH articles - it mentioned negotiations were dragging on because Nine had asked RA to help it broker the rights to the Spring tours...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I disagree - I reckon Stan is better off with more sports than just one. The risk for Rugby is being the first. But it’s time RA took a risk.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

This is a part of strategic pivot by Nine of how it uses Stan. Netflix is driving this. Nine know that they can’t beat Netflix and the other international streaming platforms. But what they do know is local content and that’s sports. If they can pull off the integration of Rugby across its FTA...

Quite true. I have a kiwi mate who winds me up by saying Thorn is just building up his CV so he can get a “real” coaching job in NZ.

    Reds 2020

I agree it looked like there was improvement. I saw that too. However I’m always cautious when teams look like they’ve improved yet the results don’t seem to follow. Maybe it just a year early for this team - kind of like the 2010 team.

    Reds 2020

To be fair, I wasn’t impressed with the progress over the past 2 and half seasons. But the past 3 months have shown some true green shoots. More than happy for him to get the gig next year. I like Thorn. But I was wondering when we might see some improvement coming into his third season in...

You’d think he is in the box seat. Will have to wait for the announcement.

    Reds 2020

No beef. Just adding a some raw outcomes to the discussion. It’s been exciting watching the team over the past couple of months. And there’s plenty of good young players. But some of fan chat and professional reporting has been a bit over done at times. Looking forward to next season under...

Wasnt excluding them - just pointing out where they came from. Honestly - look through the wins we had this season - barely 3 against decent opposition. The wins were against the bottom teams - the last round win over brumbies and the two rebels wins probably the highlights of the season.

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

A lot of hype during the week about the Reds. They were never that team. Tonight showed a player group that has very poor temperament - ill-discipline has been a hallmark of the team for the last 3 years. And it lost them the game tonight. You wouldn’t want to be sending any of them out in a...

    Reds 2020

I know it’s fashionable at the moment to talk about a huge improvement in this team however ... 2018 and 2019 were 6 wins from 16. 2020 it’s 7 from 16. The stats suggest otherwise. (And also, lets not kid ourselves that SRA wins are equivalent of wins in the old Super Rugby.)

    Reds 2020

Last night was a lot of fun but let’s not get too excited. It’s only 6 wins so far (to match 6 wins in ‘18 and ‘19) This years wins have been vs sunwolves, bulls, Tahs, rebels and force twice. Not a lot to crow about there.
