    Tahs vs Stormers

Would rather have Carter there than Beale, with Horne outside him. Beale still has not produced at this level

    Brumbies v Waratahs Trial

With Manly blood in his veins since he was a 10 year old and a Dad who was a Manly 1st Grade prop I don't like your chances LG!

    Australian Schools-Ireland & UK Tour

Australian Schools kicked off their tour with a solid 31-14 win aghainst Irish Schools @ University College, Dublin. In freezing but dry conditions, Australia trailed 12-14 at half time but powered away with it in 2nd half. Tries were wscored by Stirzacker,Sitauti,Alo_emile,Gill & Feuai. Next...

    Your personal rugby highlight

Ah yes, recalling those magic moments- what sport is all about. I'm going to take you young whippersnappers back to 08/05/78 when the might of Wales were here on tour and played Sydney at the old Sydney Sports Ground. Twas a hard physical game and the Sydney centres( Billy Feggans? + ?) tackled...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2009

The Australian Schools Touring Team had a final hitout under lights at Knox No. 1 last night. It appeared that th :)e touring team was split up and coupled with non-tourists from Australia `A' & others. Steve Walsh reffed the game which was split up into 15 minute quarters, allowing for the...

If my memory serves me correct Chris Alcock is South African born- is that right Riddler?

    Wallabies v Ireland

As i said after the England game- oh for a Vickermann and a (fit) Mortlock. Morty would have stopped BOD in his tracks!

    Leicester Stun Boks

Just finished watching a replay- what a great performance from the Leicester forward pack- not only the scrums, but at the breakdowns. Wonderful to see the bulk of their forwards get stuck in , not seagulling on the sides. Even Lote got carried away and followed the Stirling Mortlock example of...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2009

I'll declare an interest- having seen Nick Stirzaker play since he was an 11 year old.(my son has been in numerous teams with him) I'll concur what we saw on edited telecast did not show any great defensive moments however I assure you Nick can tackle with the best of them- I have seen him clean...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Just watched the replay- jeez where were all you Qlders'-not much of a crowd there at all. Lee, I concur with a fair number of opinions.Certainly liked No.3 Paul Alo-Emile although I think he could drop a few kilos. He was very industrious & certainly appeared the prime player involved in the...

Tahu: The Tahs farked me up

Hopefully we won't see too many more of these `messiahs' coming from League. I don't see a run-on team for a Super 14/15 franchise as a `development site'. This is what the various Academy teams are for. Any one coming into a run-on team needs to be able to hit the ground running- something that...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Hang on- I'd say the initial development happened in various Junior Club/Schools programmes. Sydney Uni may have contributed to further nurturing due to incentives offered to various players- see ongoing whinges re Sydney Uni elsewhere on numerous streams! :fishing

Gordon part ways with 1st grade coach

Yes- refer Gordon website for total Coach appointments for next year. Interesting to see the Jollows(Peter,Lee & Trent) moving up to take over 1st Grade Colts next year. I imagine they would be looking to bring in a lot of their old Gordon Juniors who they were very successful with, over the years.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2009

Great to read this comprehensive report- sounds like NZ had too much of a roll-on although good to see the home side finish well. Delighted to note your opinion re Nick Stirzaker ( refer my previous post). Nick is booked in to do a `Gap Year' in the UK next year- maybe he might get an offer that...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2009

I missed the Australian Championships thru being overseas & so I can't really comment on the Qld halves. However I have had the priviledge of watching Nick Stirzaker since he was a 10 year old- my son having beeen in numerous teams with him. He is one gutsy player and his technique/talent has...

Gordon part ways with 1st grade coach

I too am somewhat surprised. Gordon have had a great year Club-wise. Including Colts 6 out of 7 teams thru to final 4, 3 into Grand-Finals and winners of 3rd Grade & Colts 3 Grand-Finals. It has been my understanding that they would continue to bolster ranks with quality newcomers next year...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2009

Went out to Kings on Saturday for the finale of the GPS comp. Riverview undefeated and Kings could be joint premiers if they won match. Initial observations on a sunny Saturday arvo were: - beautiful playing surface, ruined by the retention of cricket pitch in the missle. Also it is definately...
