    CAS 2018

Minogue & Easy both played NSW 2 from memory. Connolly was injured during GPS 1 v. CAS 1 and was therefore not available for the National Championships.

    NSW AAGPS 2018

    I believe the Joeys' draw for GPS matches is: Round 1 v. Shore (A) Round 2 v. New (H) Round 3 v. Kings (H) Round 4 v. Scots (A) Round 5 v. View (A)

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

In today's North Shore Times, there is an advert seeking applications at Shore for Year 11 places in 2018. It reads "Positions will be offered to those who are considered to provide the greatest contribution to both the academic and co-curricular life of the School". Whilst this does not...

SDW, I suspect you probably know this, but just to be clear - Brisbane Grammar, Nudgee and Brisbane Boys College (BBC) are all members of the QLD GPS.

    NSW AAGPS 2017

As a Terrace Old Boy watching today's game, I can't help but think the Joeys v Riverview clash is on par with that of its QLD GPS cousins! Both matches are steeped in tradition, and coincidentally both matches in 2017 were won in the last minutes.

    NSW AAGPS 2017

"A Teams" have traditionally been awarded pennants if they finished on top of the table - even if they lost a game(s). This was certainly the case during the 2 round comp.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2017

As we celebrate the highs and lows of another Australian Schools Rugby Championship, it will interesting to assess the fallout / impact of any injuries as we head into the next round of AAGPS, CAS etc. I know that Billy Smith, Charlie Savala (both Scots) and Johnny Connolly (Kings) were all...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2017

I have been really impressed with Waverley this year, in particular Morreti, Cornish, Donaldson and Hardaker - but can we not forget that they did lose to Kings and Riverview!

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2017

Another selection mystery - Matt Minogue (not listed in the Shadow Squad) looks to have been brought in to the NSW 2 side in place of Charlie Savala (injured yesterday). Great news for Matt, but once again - the mind boggles!

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2017

In just the same way that GPS 1 were beaten by a better side this year, perhaps the same could be said for the CAS 16s last year!

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2017

That must explain the Scots 5/8 being picked in NSW 2 without even trialing during the selection matches!

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2017

Interesting to note that after the completion of the NSW Schools Trials, and the selection of NSW 1 & 2, there were 15 lads identified as "Shadow" players. When the Combined States squad was announced a few days later, it included 15 players from NSW, of which only 8 were from the Shadow squad...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2017

Also begs the question of "how can someone not trial, and still get selected", as we saw this week?

    QLD GPS Rugby 2017

As mentioned, High were strong in the 70s, but it was Terrace that won the GPS comp from 77-81 (inclusive), which included at least one shared title with High. If I am correct, the run of "5 in a row" has not been bettered to this day. Terrace cavalry of the day included Michael Lynagh, Michael...

    NSW AAGPS 2017

I think at this stage of the season, Joeys hadn't settled on their backline, let alone their kicker. Blaise Barnes was "sidelined" for the season during the trial against Marist, and this opened the door for Lachie Day to secure a starting spot on the wing. Followers of this forum would be...
